Bag from old jeans

What do you do with an old pair of jeans when you wither can't fit in them anymore, or it's time just time to bin them?

Well, my Mum came up with an idea when she stumbled across an old pair of mine in her loft recently!  I needed a 'casual' bag so she simply, used my old pair of jeans to make one!

To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect... but as usual Mum came up with another brilliant design and managed to incorporate Stampin' Up! fabrics into it too :)!

You have to actually see this bag to appreciate just how brilliant it is!  Not only is it the perfect size for a handbag, it has pockets all over the place created from the original jeans pockets.

The strap is lined with Stampin' Up! fabrics and she has also created a little key chain inside and then some charms for the zip.

Then there are the pockets inside... check this one out:

It's just the right size for some pocket tissues or my iphone, so I won't lose it.  And finally, there's a bottle holder and more pockets and the whole thing is lined.

I've discarded my handbag for this amazing bag as soon as I got it... just love it love it love it!

Thanks Mum x

Fingers crossed

My best friend announced recently announced she is getting married!  I'm hoping the wedding plans work around my current travels, so fingers crossed I don't have to make a return trip to the UK unexpectedly to be there on the big day!

More importantly, I wish Cat and Mark all the very best with their plans.  Here is the little celebratory card that I made for them using the You are Loved stamp set from the main catalogue.

I've used Wisteria Wonder for the base and then added Shimmery White card, the strip at the bottom has been embossed with one of the Adorning Accent embossing folders.  I have then heat embossed the image onto Melon Mambo card stock using White embossing powder.

The You are Loved stamp set was originally released in one of the 2011 mini catalogues, but fortunately returned in the main catalogue.  It would suit so many different occasions!

If you would like to place an order please email me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com, but please note it may take a couple of days to get a reply whilst I am on the road.

SAB thoughts

Sometimes it is necessary to create a card for difficult occasions.  Although the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set seems to have some more 'cheery' stamps in it, I thought I'd create a sympathy card to add some variety.

I've added leaves from the Bird Punch instead of using the stamp from the set as these are a little bigger...

Other materials:
Scallop Circle punch;
1 3/8 inch Circle punch;

Another Vintage Verse

Today I have another card created by Amy using the Vintage Verses stamp set that is available during Sale-A-Bration...

The base is Old Olive, to which Amy has added Crumbcake (embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder), circles of Early Espresso layered with smaller circles of Old Olive, Crumbcake and Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment has then been chopped up and scattered across the card to finish.  A simple yet very effective idea.

On Valentines Day

Well I couldn't let Valentines Day pass without a card could I!?  Happy Heart Day everyone x

I CASE'd this idea from a card I saw created by Amy during our last crafty get together.  I've used a Basic Grey base and added Cherry Cobbler card stock for the background, along with a strip of DSP from the Be of Good Cheer paper pack.

The cute Giraffe's are from the Zoo Review stamp set, which I have stamped twice side by side in Soft Suede ink and then punched out with the Heart punch and added another heart punch shape from Melon Mambo behind it before raising up with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Alphabet Occasions stamp set and has been stamped onto Cotton Ribbon.

Sweet Valentine

Today I have a Valentines card to share with you.  This could also work for an anniversary or engagement or anything really ;).  I've used Raspberry Ripple (my new favourite!) and Basic Black, which I have teamed with some hand made papers that I brought back from a visit to Sri Lanka...

I've stamped the 'humming bird' stamp from the Bloomin' Marvelous Sale-A-Bration stamp set to create this card, and created a mirror image using my Stamp-a-ma-jig... although I have to admit that I needed a blender pen for this idea as the image didn't work so well on the textured paper.

Other materials:
Scallop Circle die;
Sentiment - sorry this one is retired!
Argyle embossing folder;
Basic Pearls.

Happy New Year

Good Luck to my Sister Lee who is running 10k today to raise money for the West Coast Crash Wheelchair Rugby team.  If you would like to sponsor her please do visit her fundraising page here.

So today is Chinese New Year... and, I have another 'Snake' themed card to share with you!

I've used the Labels Collection Framelits again for this card and also one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits, both on my Big Shot machine.

I did try to keep it simple but after making more than 50 Chinese New Year cards this year I'm glad I won't be around to celebrate ;).

SAB butterflies

I have more Sale-A-Bration (SAB) ideas for you today.  Using the lovely Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.

I've selected Rich Razzleberry for the base and then randomly stamped the 'butterfly' image over a piece of Whisper White card stock using Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, Pool Party and Island Indigo.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set... but I also needed something for a get well card so changed the based to Pool Party and used a Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment :)...

Perfect day!

Well I'm hoping for one anyway!  Perhaps this lovely card idea from Amy will help :).

Using the Vintage Verses stamp set which is available during Sale-A-Bration, Amy has used one of the sentiments as the main feature on this card and carefully framed it with the discarded scraps from cutting out one of the Labels Collection framelits dies; which she has carefully sponge daubered around the edges.

This would make a lovely Valentines card wouldn't it?

The technique could be used for scrapbooking too, so I'm off to find something in my Smash book to try this out on... ;)!

If you would like to get your hands on this SAB stamp set or any of the other SAB products then all you need to do is place an order before 22nd March for £45 or more (excluding postage).  Contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com for further details and to place your order.

Gift card holder from envelope tutorial

Wow, I don't think I have ever had so many visitors! If you stopped by at my site yesterday thank you so much, and welcome back.  If you didn't, do scroll down and check out the Stampin' Stars blog hop that I took part in to see some of the new products in the Spring/Summer catalogue.

As promised, today I have another gift card holder made from an A6 envelope to share with you, plus a step by step tutorial showing you how to make these.

I've used the Patio Partio DSP on page 165 of the main catalogue to decorate this gift card holder as well as the Henry Says stamp set, from the new Spring/Summer catalogue, that I also showed you yesterday.

1. Take an unsealed A6 envelope and fold in half.  Then unfold and cut along the crease of the flap only.  It should look like this:

2. Rotate the envelop so that it is facing you in portrait.  Seal the top half of the envelope and leave the bottom flap unsealed (this is where your gift card will go once completed).

3. Add your choice of DSP to the areas which will form the inside of your gift card holder.  The top panel will be slightly larger than the bottom panel.  The bottom panel should cover the envelope up to the edge where is opens.  For example I have used the Patio Party DSP for this and left a thin border around each panel.  Note that the photo shows a how the gift card would fit inside :).

4. For the flap, cut another piece of DSP and adhere this to the outside of the closed flap as shown below:

5. Finally, decorate the outside of your gift card holder.  I have turned the holder to a portrait position and added some DSP, Stiched Grosgrain ribbon and the sentiment and 'bunting' from the Henry Says stamp set; inked in Raspberry Ripple from the 2012-14 In Colours.

You can of course decorate the holder in landscape as I did with yesterdays project idea if you prefer.

Don't forget to check out the new Spring/Summer catalogue and Sale-A-Bration offer if you haven't already done so.  I'm offering FREE postage on orders placed before Sunday, if you live close to me (GU16) and can collect your products so contact me now at jadedcrafter@gmail.com.

New catalogue and blog hop

The new Spring/Summer catalogue is released today and can be found here.  To celebrate, some of the Stampin' Stars demonstrators have decided to take part in a blog hop and to share with you some of the new products.

So, welcome to the Stampin' Stars Blog Hop and an extra special welcome to those of you have hopped here from Lesley's blog.

Details of the next blog to hop to can be found at the bottom of this post, along with a complete list of those taking part, just in case you get lost ;).

For my project I decided to create a card and co-ordinating gift card holder, using the cute Henry Says stamp set.

The card is to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl... but the gift card holder could be used for any occasion...;)

The card base is Pink Pirouette and I have added a piece of DSP from the Subtles Collection paper pack to the base, before adhering a length of the Crochet Trim (see page 173 of main catalogue) and then a length of Pretty in Pink Stitched Grosgrain ribbon.

The 'elephant' image has been inked in Basic Grey and stamped onto another DSP from the Subtles Collection paper pack and then cut out and mounted with Dimensionals.

You will see I have then added the sentiment inked in Rose Red, and also selected the word 'BABY' from the 'B' stamp from the Alphabet Occasions stamp set, to go above this.  To embellish I've punched out some heart shapes using the Owl Punch and added a Designer Button.

The gift card holder has been created from an A6 envelope, and decorated with the same materials as the card.  I've added a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, punched out with the Word Window punch to finish it off.

If you would like detailed instructions for this gift card holder do check back tomorrow when I will have another example for you using alternative products and a full step by step tutorial.

If you would like to order any items from the new Spring/Summer catalogue or the main catalogue please contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com.

Don't forget that the Sale-A-Bration event running until 22nd March means you can get FREE products with every spend of £45 (excluding postage).  I am offering FREE postage as well if you place your order before Sunday 3rd February and are able to collect your products from me (GU16).

Finally, as promised, the next blog, to hop to, is - Cary's blog.  Thank you for visiting my site and I hope to see you again some time.
