Happy Easter of course!

Here is Chicky and the Honeycomb embossing folder from my last few posts... they go well together don't they!

I hope you have a happy Easter Day today, I'm going to be making the most of it!

With or without the champagne glitter paper?

If you have been following my recent posts you will know that I am helping with wedding favours for my best friends wedding next month (see Playing with wedding favours post).

Now we have a confirmed theme of butterflies, I've had to resort to the retired Butterfly punch to help me out.  The Beautiful Butterflies embosslits die would work just as well but unfortunately it doesn't allow for printing of the bride and groom's names on the back very easily!

Here is my batch of samples which are being mulled over - which would you pick, with or without the Champagne glitter paper that is still available?

Materials:
Butterfly punch (retired);
Card - Pink Pirouette;
Embossing folder - Vintage Wallpaper;
Flowers - non Stampin' Up!;
Champage Glimmer paper - rolled over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue, you can order a pack for £4.50 (item 127885).

Easter flowers

I have a very quick card to share with you today, which would probably work quite well for other occasions as well as Easter, with just a change of sentiment or colour theme.

The little daffodils were created with the Boho Blossoms punch and then I've punched out circles using the eyes from the Owl punch for the centres.  The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes (hostess) stamp set, inked in Bashful Blue.

I've not really had a chance to play with the Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring/Summer catalogue but I totally love it... so, more ideas to follow!

Easter chicks

I wasn't expecting to be back in the UK for Easter, and I don't really celebrate as such... but where there's chocolate to be had!

I'm still a little restricted with my stash as I haven't extracted everything out of storage yet but I do have my trusty owl punch with me, and surprisingly I managed to create something with an Easter theme using it.

I had to add some feathers (with embroidery threads!) as these little chicks looked too much like yellow owls on my first attempt... I think maybe some wings might have helped?

Anyway, here are the other materials:

Scallop Circle die;
Designer buttons;
Ruffled ribbon - Pool Party;
Subtles collection DSP;
Linen Thread;
Word Window punch;
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Embossing folder - Argyle.

If you would like to purchase any of the items featured in this card or any other Stampin' Up! items then you can get FREE postage on orders of £45 or more if you purchase from me before the end of the month. The Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder is one of my favourites.  You will see that my last couple of posts featured cards using this folder, it's just so versatile.

Today I have a thank you card which uses this embossed effect as well...

Punches - Scallop Trim Border, Word Window.
Stamp sets - Button Buddies, Teeny Tiny.

Penguin greetings

As promised yesterday, here is the card I made for my friend Nathan.  I've gone a bit out of my normal comfort zone and used Night of Navy from the Regals collection, for the colour theme.

The cute little penguin is from the Zoo Review stamp set in the main catalogue, inked in Basic Black, with a party hat added (cut from a scrap of DSP) and topped with a brad.  I've added some brads to the side of the card to match and add a more masculine feel...

This card could be used for any occasion with a change to the sentiment of course!

Other materials:
Sentiment - Wacky Wishes (hostess only);
Embossing folder - Perfect Polka Dots.

Birthday twin girly card

Yesterday was my friend's Mel and Nathan's birthdays.  They are twins so it helps me to remember when their birthdays are.  Here's the card I made for Mel:

I've used the Patio Party DSP for the strips at the bottom of Midnight Muse card base and then cut a Label with the framelits die from Whisper White, which I have also embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

The cute little cake was cut from the DSP and mounted on Dimensionals and then I've added a sentiment punched out with the Word Window punch to finish.

I hope Mel had a great birthday.

Check back tomorrow for Nathan's card ;).

Smashing with Sycamore Street

Sale-A-Bration may end today, but I'm going to be using the gorgeous Sycamore Street DSP pack for sometime yet!
I'm slowly working through my Smash book creating pages from my recent travels... in fact I got so side tracked playing that I've almost forgotten that I still have travel blog posts to finish - oops ;)!  Anyway here's a few of the pages featuring the lovely papers... ooh and links to my travel blog posts, where I had a couple of unfortunate incidences, which may help you out when planning a trip to Spain.

Jerez, Spain - sherry tour and car break in :(

Granada, Spain - the Alhambra and almost robbed!

Playing with wedding favours

I've been busy creating ideas for my best friends wedding next month :).

It's not very easy with limited crafting stash as I only got back to the UK at the weekend and I'm crashing at my parents currently! However a crafter always has bits which will make do ;)...

Here are the wine glass charms I made using the Heart Punch, before being told that the theme is actually butterflies - doh!

Other materials are non Stampin' Up! as I was making do of course :(.

Check back soon for the corrected theme ideas ...

Happy Birthday Amy

I'm a little late with the birthday wishes today but haven't forgotten... so, happy birthday Amy!

Here's the card I made for her...

It seems I have been away for just over a month now and this is the first post that I hadn't already scheduled before I left the UK (check out the latest on my travel blog to see what I'm up to here) ... and I've already forgotten the name of the stamp set!

Quick check... it's Mixed Bunch stamped in Melon Mambo and then punched out with the co-ordinating Blossom Punch, and I've added a punched shape cut from Pink Pirouette behind the stamped image.

I've used a swing card design for this card, created with the Top Note die and cut from Pool Party card stock.  There are lots of tutorials on the web showing you how to create a card base like this so I won't go into details here.

I have used a Melon Mambo frame cut from the Top Note die to co-ordinate with the flower.

Other materials:
Leaves = from the Blomin' Marvellous Sale-A-Bration stamp set;
Sentiment = from the For the Birds stamp set.

Happy Mothers Day Mum

Being out of the UK I almost forgot that it is Mothers Day today!

I did make a few cards in haste before departing last month, and fortunately had remembered this one for my Mum :)!

The base is Basic Black and I have embossed a piece of Real Red card stock, cut with one of the Designer Labels Framelits dies, with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and used this for the background.

I've added a butterfly cut from Twitterpated fabric (adhered to card) using the Beautiful Butterflies die and then punched out a Decorative Label punch shape stamped with the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and decorated with one of the stamps from the Bloomin' Marvelous SAB stamp set.

Happy Birthday Vicky

It's my very good friend Vicky's birthday today... I hope she has a great day!

Here's the card I made for her using the 'giraffe' stamp from the Zoo Review stamp set.

I've teamed Melon Mambo with Soft Suede and picked out part of a sentiment from the Alphabet Occasions stamp set to finish.

Today I have my last Sale-A-Bration sample to share with you.  Another design by Amy.

Using one of the stamps from the Vintage Verses stamp set, Amy has created this lovely bright card with a selection of designer papers from the 'Brights Collection' paper pack.
