Textured impressions

The Summer mini catalogue has some lovely new products including the new textured impressions embossing folders which are a bargain at just £7.95 for the pack of 3.  There are co-ordinating edgelit dies too but to be honest you can probably get by quite easily with just the embossing folders and save your pennies towards something else :).

Today, I went along to Amy's catalogue launch event where we had a play with the new Twitterpated fabric, textured impressions embossing folders and the framelits dies.  I'm not sure which is my most favourite - probably the framelits dies as they are so versatile and also co-ordinate with the Apothecary Art stamp set.

The card we made was the same as one that another demonstrator friend, Julie, shared with us at our last crafty get together (see second picture), but of course I had to adapt it slightly and come up with something else.

The card base is Baja Breeze and this has been teamed with Blushing Bride and Whisper White to co-ordinate with the Twitterpated fabric.  Then we used a combination of the framelits dies to cut out the card stock and the fabric (which was mounted onto card stock with adhesive sheets) and then cut out butterflies using the Beautiful Butterflies die.

If you look closely you can see the textures created by the new embossing folders - tiny raised 'hearts' and the decorative edge of the card above, which I have then cut by hand.

The card designed by Julie uses the sentiment from the Apothecary Art stamp set and a clever technique created by the heart punch on the ends.

Tomorrow I have my birds for all occasions class, so plenty of ideas to follow next week using the owl and bird builder punches.

I hope you are having a good weekend x
