60th easle

I'm having a bit of an issue with blogger currently so if no scheduled posts appear after today I'm still trying to fix the problem but will have more time soon so keep checking back :(.

Today I have a card created in an 'easle' style for a 60th birthday...

The base is Certainly Celery from the 'Subtles' collection and I've teamed this with So Saffron and Pink Pirouette.  The stamp set is one of the lovely hostess sets - Summer Afternoon, which I've coloured with a blender pen using Stampin' Write markers.

I've used the Labels Collection Framelits dies to cut out the image panel, So Saffron and then Pink Pirouette pieces and layered these up and then fixed to the easle folded base.

The So Saffron strip (embossed with Argyle embossing folder) on the base to prop up the card has been raised up with Dimensionals and then I have added a length of the lovely stictched grosgrain ribbon in Pretty in Pink under a Decorative Label punch that has been stamped with the numbers from the Memorable Moments stamp set.

Remember if you would like to order any products from the Stampin' Up! catalogues just contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

Thank you flower

Believe it or not this is quite a quick card to make... if you have a Big Shot machine :)!

The base is Pink Pirouette and the Top Note has been cut out of Regal Rose and then a piece of DSP from the Festival of Prints paper pack (yes this pack is great for non Christmas cards too!).  The Fun Flowers die has been used to create the layers of the flower in Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder run through the Regal Rose pieces.

You can just make out the leaves in the photo, punched with the Bird Builder punch from Crumbcake and then sponge daubered with Chocolate Chip ink.

The lovely sentiment is from one of the Hostess sets - Wacky Wishes...

I will be placing an order at lunchtime today, so if you live close to me (GU16) and would like to save on postage costs please let me have your order by 12 noon.  To contact me just email jadedcrafter@gmail.com

It's another busy weekend for me, with the last week of work coming up as well, so more to follow on Monday.  Have a good one!

Have you seen the Simply Sent App?

Do you have an iphone, ipad or ipod touch?  I so then have you seen this App?

The App allows you to create an e-card—from a template or completely on your own—and send it via e-mail or post it on Facebook. And it’s free!

You don't really need a project idea from me for today with this to play with ;).  Go to the itunes store and download it now - here.

Happy birthday Susan

It was my Aunt's birthday today... but hopefully she got to open the card on time :).

Here it is - featuring the lovely Happy Hour stamp set in the main catalogue:

I've used a Pool Party based and matted Tempting Turquoise behind a piece of Shimmery White card stock which has been embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.

I've then stamped the chosen cocktail glass in Tempting Turqoise and Early Espresso onto Whisper White card and punched these out with the Perfect Postage punch before mounting on squares of Tempting Turquoise.

The sentiment is from the same set and I've created a co-ordinating tag using a parcel tag (non Stampin' Up!) by adding a strip of Tempting Turquoise punched with the Scallop Trim border punch and 3 more images.

I do hope Susan had a fabulous birthday x

An idea for fabric scraps

Well I had a lovely weekend up in the Lake District, despite the weather being pretty rainy today, the rest of the weekend was reasonably sunny.  However I have had absolutely no internet or phone signal and no time to schedule any posts, so this one comes live for a change :).

I've been waiting a while to share this idea with you, as it was something I asked my mum to make for me to house all my lovely Stampin' Write marker pens, and I finally got it when I saw her this weekend...

If you look closely (sorry - rubbish photo!) you can see the scraps of Stampin' Up! fabric used to create the 'quilted' pattern on the outside of the denim material.

Here's a close up of one section and what's inside:

I'm so excited that I can now carry all my markers around in this lovely case ... and show off all the different Stampin' Up! fabrics :0).

The little pocket at the bottom that makes sure the pens don't fall out is made from little sections of the fabrics too...

I'm off to unpack, have a good evening x

Patio Party product suite

It's my good friend Marie's birthday today... so I thought I would have a play with the Patio Party product suite to create her card.

I've used Primrose Petals and Summer Star Fruit from the 2012-2014 In Colours collection to co-ordinate with papers.

The stamp set is Make a Cake which has some lovely little bits that you can put together to create different cakes.  I've gone with a 3 tier cake, inked in Primrose Petals and then punched out with the Decorative Label punch which I have then created a frame with using two punched Summer Starfruit shapes.

If you would like to place an order you can contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com, remember if you live close to me (GU16) I'm placing and order at the end of the week so you can save on postage (normally £4.95).

Non traditional Christmas colouring

There are a couple of demonstrators whose work I really like, and Fiona at Oakfiled Crafts is one of them.

Here is the card she made for a swap at our last get together, I've been saving it for a bit nearer to Christmas but couldn't wait any longer :).

Fiona has used Midnight Muse from the 2012-2014 In Colour collection and Rich Razzleberry (one of my old favs).  The Scallop Trim border is More Mustard, and these colours work really well togeter.

The stamp set is Snow Swirled from the Christmas section of the main catalogue, the background has also been inked with the decorative stamps.

Stampable ribbon

Have you ever tried stamping on ribbon... sometimes it just runs and goes all blurry?  Well, not with the Cotton Ribbon in the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! catalogue (see page 20).

There's even a stamp set designed to work with the ribbon:
And here is a fabulous card idea which showcases this set and the ribbon too...

Created by Diane who is a fellow demonstrator, this card teams the 2012-2014 In Colour range Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green.  You can see the stamped ribbon is very effective.

Glitzy glam 30th

Happy Monday... :)!

I have been busying myself trying to get some content for my travel site so haven't had much time to keep my crafty posts flowing over the weekend, but promise to get back to regular posts this week.

Please do check out my other site, and check back regularly for travel related info, product reviews and my ongoing travels and please share with your friends - the more hits I get the better chance I have of persuading someone to give me some freelance travel writing work...

Ok, enough of the shameless plugs, here is a card:

I was asked to create something with a glitzy glam theme for a 30th birthday, and after mulling it over I decided it had to include the Happy Hour stamp set.  After that it was just a case of using the Red Glimmer paper and my Scallop circle punch to create a cocktail dress (the belt is mirror card 'non Stampin' Up!).

The photo doesn't show that I've used Shimmery White card as well as having embossed the Basic Black panel.

If you would like to place an order and live close to me (GU16) you can save on postage as I will be placing an order at the end of the week, so please contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

A little treat idea

Apologies for a gap in posts... I've been a little under the weather this week and had some difficult news so have neglected my scheduled posts.

Hopefully with a break from work over the weekend and some catching up with friends, plus some crafting sessions I will have more ideas to share with you soon.

For now, here is something I've been saving for a while...

Isn't it cute, and just what is needed to keep you cosy on these cold/dark evenings.  Created by a fellow demonstrator, Jackie, and given to me at our last demonstrator get together.

Jackie has used the lovely Scentsational Season stamp set to create the mug of hot choc with the candy cane which has been mounted onto a 6cm Scallop circle punched piece of Crumbcake card stock.  The DSP is from the Snow Festival paper pack in the Autumn/Winter catalogue and all of that has been fixed onto a Early Espresso pouch.

Inside is a lovely sachet of hot chocolate... which would be great as a little gift, or you could include something else :).

Such a great idea which I will be using again and again.

Snowmen

I have another Christmas card offering to share with you today.  As the cold sets in perhaps we will get some snow :).

This card was created with the cute stamp set from the Autumn/Winter catalogue, Frosty Friends.

You can just make out the Bashful Blue inked snowflakes from the Every Little Bit stamp set in the background on the Bashful Blue card base.  I've then matted the image panel onto Pretty in Pink card stock (rounding the corners of both) and then raised this up with dimensionals before adding a length of the Pretty in Pink Stitched grosgrain ribbon.

The ribbon has been adhered with sticky strip (red tape) and carefully rippled rather than stuck down flat to create a little texture.

You will see the image has been coloured with Stampin' Write markers in places to co-ordinate with the colouring of the card.

Comfort Cafe butterfly thanks

Today I have a card created with the lovely Comfort Cafe fabric, as I really love these colours.

The base is Whisper White and I've teamed Summer Star Fruit (new in colours) with Pool Party.  If you look closely you will see that I've embossed the Scallop Circle die cut with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and then layered this over a panel of Summer Start Fruit card stock which has strips of Pool Party cut with one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits dies.

The butterfly has been cut with the Beautiful Butterflies die after mounting the fabric onto card.

I'll be placing an order when I'm back from my trip so feel free to email me (jadedcrafter@gmail.com) with details of anything you would like to order and if you live close to me (GU16) you can save on postage.

Gingerbread CASE

Here is another of my Christmas card club offerings, for which I have to give full credit to Julie, a fellow  demonstator as I saw this card ages ago on her blog and just had to CASE it.  Julie always creates such great cards, I just wish she would share them on her blog more :).

I've changed a couple of things, using the Scallop Trim border punch and Chocolate Chip ink for the gingerbread man.  The stamp set is Scentsational Season and Teeny Tiny Wishes was used for the sentiment.

Christmas drinkies

It's almost Christmas party time...

As much as I like traditional sorts of cards at Christmas, I thought I would create something a little different for one of my Christmas card club sessions, and the Happy Hour stamp set had just the thing.

The set has lots of little bits and pieces that you can use for a variety of occasions, with a choice of 5 different glasses:

So here is the card I created with Elegant Eggplant, Real Red and Summer Star Fruit (from the new in colours range):

I can't wait to find some time to create some birthday and other occasion cards with this set :).

Neutral but nice

I have another swap from a fellow demonstrator to share with you today, Stephanie-Emma.  She has used a lovely neutral colour theme with stamps from each of the Four Frames, Creative Elements and Artistic Etchings stamp sets.

The clear embossed background is one of the Creative Elements stamps which works just beautifully against the Early Espresso card.  Stephanie-Emma has also embossed the crown from the Artistic Etchings stamp set in gold which works so well against the Very Vanilla and deeper background colouring.

I've never actually used 2 of these stamp sets so will definitely be giving them a go soon myself.
