... to say goodbye!  Yes, it's my very last post featuring the Fresh Vintage stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration offer which ends on Saturday.  Don't leave it until the last minute to place your order as it will take longer to arrive with the last minute rush...

For this card I have used the colour combination of Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  The latter 2 colours are included in the latest In Colour range for 2011-2013 which are fast becoming my favourites.  However Rich Razzleberry remains up at the top of my favourite list and I just couldn't resist featuring it on this card.

Patchwork papers

Quilting or patchwork projects are becoming very popular, but you don't need to get out your sewing kit!  Why not try using this idea with patterned papers to achieve a similar effect.  I've CASE'd this card idea from Cate, but have used the Perfect Postage punch instead to create the squares.

For the card base I have used Crumbcake and then layered a piece of Very Vanilla onto this and then placed each of the patchwork pieces side by side.

The image is from the Perfect Postage stamp set with co-ordinating punch, both from the current mini catalogue that is available until 30th April.  I've inked the stamp with marker pens to get a variety of colours for the candles and then stamped this onto Very Vanilla and mounted on a Curly Label punch shape cut from Poppy Parade card stock.

I love the way the Stampin' Up papers, card stock and inks all co-ordinate, as I've also used Poppy Parade ink for the sentiment (from the For My Family stamp set) and Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon behind the image panel.

You can use any patterned papers to create a patchwork card, so it's a great way to use up some scraps which if you're anything like me, you've been keeping safe to make something with :).

Flowers and lace

This card is not my normal sort of style, and combining flowers and lace was a first for me.  However the stamp set is my favourite from the Sale-A-Bration sets (and remember these are only available FREE until the end of this week with an order of £45) and I think works really well in the colour combo of Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant...



I have inked up the stamp using Stampin' Write markers in Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant and then stamped this onto Very Vanilla and matted the panel onto Elegant Eggplant card stock.

To continue the colour theme I have punched a strip of Melon Mambo using the Lace Ribbon Border punch and then adhered this to the Elegant Eggplant and then Very Vanilla.

The sentiment is from the Perfect Pairs stamp set which has a great selection of words for all occasions and I have punched it out with the Curly Label punch.

Created using some of the In Colours for 2010-2012 which will only be available until September, this card also uses the lovely Everyday Enchantment papers only available with an order of £45 before the Sale-A-Bration event ends next week.  You will still be able to get the Create a Cupcake stamp set that I have used for this card, until the end of April but why wait - get it all now, save £'s, get FREE papers and full instructions too :).

Swinging 60

There is no getting away from the fact that I love the Sale-A-Bration FREE stamp sets and papers and will be sad to see them go at the end of the month.  So, if you have had enough of seeing projects that use these products then I can only apologise.  With only 10 more days left of this event I do have a few more ideas to share with you...

This swing card however uses a couple of my favourites, which are not Sale-A-Bration products; the top note die and the cupcake builder punch.  

It is surprisingly easy to make the base from an A5 piece of Whisper White which I have cut with the top note die, but only using half of it.  The front then folds back on itself to make the top note 'swing'.

If you want to have a go at this run your card base through the die using your big shot but make sure you only place the cutting pads across half of the die, so that the edge lines up directly with the centre (where the fold will then be, when you fold the front back on itself).  That way the die only cuts against the cutting pad and leaves the other half of the card in tact.

To make the top note panel stand out I have run some mirror card (non Stampin' Up!) through the top note die and then also cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry and then trimmed off the edge before placing this inside so that it becomes framed.

For the centre image I have used the stamp from the Sale-A-Bration Elementary Elegance stamp set inked with Versamark ink and then embossed with Silver embossing powder using a heat gun.  This creates a raised effect and the silver stands out particularly well on the dark card.

Other materials:

Cupcake builder punch - using scraps of DSP to create the cupcake and then decorated with basic rhinestones before placing in the corner using dimensional sticky pads.

Timeless type junior alphabet dies - for the numbering cut from mirror card (non Stampin' Up!).

Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped with versamark onto a scrap of DSP and embossed in silver and then punched out with the Word Window Punch.

Inspired wedding card

This card was inspired by a fellow demonstrator,  Fiona, whose ideas I absolutely love as they are very different to my own (although mine are becoming more like hers!).  Check out the card Fiona shared with us at my last crafty get together, here, which is the inspiration for this wedding card layout.



Materials:

Base - Very Vanilla

Stamp set - Fresh Vintage (SAB 2012) - I have used the small flower stamp for the background.

DSP - Everyday enchantment (SAB 2012).

Ink - Bashful Blue.

Punch - Bird Builder for the birds punched from Bashful Blue and the leaves punched from Lucky Limeade.

Main panel - Top Note die to cut Bashful Blue card and then the DSP which has been trimmed round the edge and mounted on the card.

Sentiment - Word Window punch and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Mother's Day Class

I've been having quite a busy day... with a class this morning and catching up on some commissions it's been all about the crafting!  It's so nice to be home too for a few days and feeling a little more normal again :).

The ladies at my class this morning seemed to enjoy themselves making some cards with a Mother's Day theme using the Vintage Vogue stamp set in the main catalogue.

I made the projects a little more challenging than normal as those attending have been to my classes before and they like to chat so it's always good to have them cutting out lots of bits for their cards so they can catch up and gossip at the same time :).

Some of the Sale-A- Bration papers featured on the cards too, and one or two of the ladies chose to make theirs for other occasions.

Here are a couple of the cards a bit closer up.

Cate's project and my CASEing (already!)

Today I have another card to share with you that we made at the crafty get together at the weekend.  This time designed by Cate.  This uses the Everyday Enchantment papers that are only available during the current Sale-A-Bration event.  The colour theme is Poppy Parade which I am liking more and more ... 

We have used one of the frames from the Designer Frames embossing folders set with some Very Vanilla card stock to create the back panel.  Over this we have used the Decorative Label punch to create a larger frame - by punching out 2 labels and cutting these in half (one horizontally and one vertically) and mounting around a Decorative Label punched from Very Vanilla.  

The sentiment is from the You are Loved stamp set in the Spring Mini catalogue and we have stamped the large stamp from the Fresh Vintage stamp set (Sale-A-Bration) around the edge, both in Poppy Parade. 

This was a lovely quick card to make and I loved the layout so much I made a who bunch of them using different papers and colour themes, including some for Mother's Day with co-ordinating note pads.

We have a charity day at work on Friday and I will be donating a load of cards and other bits for sale to raise money for Sport Relief and I think these might just work as we are nearing Mother's Day :).



Mini book ... a great idea for Mother's Day

Here is one of the projects from my crafty get together at the weekend.  Designed by my partner in crafting crime, Amy!  And she has even done alittle tutorial on her blog on how to make these so check it out here.

Errr.... a caravan card

I have busy weekend ahead... in fact not sure how I will cram everything in, but looking forward to it!

So just a quick card commission for you today, featureing a caravan (ooh - makes me feel all summery!).

I've used the striped papers from the Sale-A-Bration DSP pack, Everyday Enchantment (love it!) and teamed this with Poppy Parade and Marina Mist card stock ... the image is printed off the web and layered up to create a 3D effect.

Sentiment = Create a Cupcake set punched with the Word Window punch.

A super hero and how to get FREE DSP

Sometimes I wish I was a Super Hero... or at least able to be in 2 places at once!

Anyway, here's a quick commission featuring the one and only Spiderman, probably one of my fav super hero's...

If you don't have a stamp set for a particular card theme than just search for colouring pictures on the web and there is usually everything you could possibly want at your finger tips.  I've coloured and layered up 3 of these images to create a 3D effect/decoupage card and matted this on Real Red and Marina Mist card stock before mounting over a strip of DSP from the 'birghts' paper pack.

The Designer Series Papers (DSP's) are almost endless - I actually still have a large proportion of the one I purchased when I signed up as a demonstrator back in August and I've used lots for demo's and plenty of cards.  There are 2 sheets of each of 2 double sided (4 different patterns) pieces in each pack in each of the different colour collections - that's 40 sheets!  The packs are ideal for splitting with a friend as you still getting a piece of everything.  RRP £19.50.

Why not check out the other DSP's on pages 96-101 of the main catalogue, which come in smaller packs.  Or better still buy £45 of products and get the Sale-A-Bration DSP pack - Everyday Enchantment FREE.  I think has a very Cath Kidston feel... it's stunning!

Grey is not my colour, but....

...the Fresh Vintage stamp set available FREE during Sale-A-Bration is fabulous and works so well with a grey card base - check out the card below that we made with this set at the last Blue Angels training event.

So, the base card for this sample is a piece of Basic Grey card stock that has three medallions stamped on it in Basic Grey ink. The piece of Whisper White card stock has been stamped with Pear Pizzazz and stuck onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock, before adding it to the Basic Grey base leaving a little of the medallion poking out.

The Pink Pirouette flower was made by punching some card stock with the Fancy Flower punch. I only punched one but then scrunched up the flower. If you do this a few times the paper will start to fray at the edges. You are then able to pull the flower apart into two layers and the inside looks like suede. This is a great way to give added texture to a card. The flower was finished off with an Antique Brad.

The message at the bottom comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the tag was finished off with a couple of the mini pearls. This is a simple card that could be used for a number of different occassions and the sentiments in the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (of which there are 24) is a great buy as they cover so many different events.

I didn't get this card in the post in time so what better way to ensure she 'gets' it... although it will be waiting on the doormat when she gets home tomorrow. 

The card above has been made from the Everyday Enchantment Sale-A-Bration papers and using one of the hostess stamp sets, so you just need to host your own workshop during the Sale-A-Bration event (which is running until 31st March 2012) to be in with a chance of getting your hands on all the products you need to make this beautiful card!

I love these papers so much, they are featuring on lots of my cards at the moment and that is a real change for me as I don't normally like to use a lot of the flowery papers or images.

I've teamed up the papers with Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade cardstock which feature in the designs.  The image is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set (hostess pounds only) inked with Poppy Parade and stamped onto Very Vanilla and then punched out with the Curly Tag punch, along with 2 pieces of Lucky Limeade and then mounted with dimensional sticky pads.

Loving colours

Yay it's the weekend... but I don't have much time to blog so have another scheduled post for you today!

This valentines card uses one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets (Sprinkled Expressions) which you can get for free with an order of £45... but only until the 31st March!

Materials:

Base - Melon Mambo card;

DSP - Brights DSP, Old Olive piece;

Panel - Elegant Eggplant card;

Ink - Versamark (clear) ink embossed with White embossing powder using a heat gun.

I love this colour combo and the white embossing powder creates such a lovely effect - my favourite is the clear powder but I'm really getting into the white too.

My favourite SAB set

Back off to Cambridge, although I probably didn't plan this trip too well and should have left earlier to avoid the icy roads.

I've got my car stashed full of the usual crafting caboodle so will be making the most of it if I get snowed in whilst there - fingers crossed :)!

Today I have the last of the SAB stamp sets to share with you, there will be more samples to come using this set over the coming weeks. 

This is the 4th limited edition FREEBIE set that you can get when you spend £45 until 31st March.  The other sets are Outlined Occasions, Sprinkled Expressions and Elementary Elegance. 

So here is the Fresh Vintage set:

This is definitely my favourite for the 4 sets. It was when I first saw them and it has remained so after I had made some samples... it is just beautiful and co-ordinates with the Everyday Enchantment. papers brilliantly!

This card uses almost ALL the stamps in the set, so it's quite advanced!

The base is Tangerine Tango with the border stamp inked in the same colour,

 
Then on a rectangle of Whisper White stamp the flower image several times, using Red Riding Hood and Pear Pizzazz marker pens.

Punch out two strips of Pear Pizzazz using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and layer the Whisper White over these.

Run a piece Red Riding Hood card through the Big Shot using the Beautiful Butterlies Die the stamp it randomly with the flower stamp using Versamark ink and then Clear Embossing powder.

The central image is stamped onto Whisper White card using Tangerine Tango ink and then also in Pear Pizzazz punching out the central circle using the '1/2" circle punch. These were then raised on the centre of the card using a dimensional sticky pad to give them a 3D effect.

Fake it ribbon

Here we go... Sale-A-Bration samples now located as I am back at home :).

So far I have share with you 2 for the stamp sets that you can get free with and order of £45, Outlined Occasions and Sprinkled Expressions, and of course those fabulous papers Everyday Enchantment.  So today a stamp from one of the other 2 remaining sets - Elementary Elegance:

So here is a sample:

It uses the new In Colours Calypso Coral (base), Island Indigo (fake ribbon), Pool Party (frame) and Lucky Limeade (sentiment).

Note that the frame co-ordinates with the Curly Label punch.

To make the paper ribbon you simply take a strip of card, fold it under and then back out and cut a 'v' in each end. Here the label panel has been stuck over the top of the ribbon and raised up with dimensionals which works really well.

So, if you don't have the right colour ribbon then you can have any colour you like using this technique and it's great way to use up all those scraps that you never throw away!

More SAB love

After attending Amy's demo in the morning I went for long walk yesterday afternoon, then treated myself to fish and chips for dinner before settling in to a late night of catching up on card commissions!  So now I have plenty of things to share with you over the next couple of weeks as well as lots of the Sale-A-Bration projects that we created at team training earlier this month!

Today I have managed to cram in various things when I probably should be putting my feet up before driving back to Cambridge tonight - but hey, I can rest when I am dead can't I?! lol - sorry!

To keep the creativity ticking over, here's another Sale-A-Bration sample for you... continuing the Valentines theme from a couple of days ago :).

It features one of the stamps from the Outlined Occasions stamp set which you can get free during the Sale-A-Bration event if you spend £45 or more:

To be completely honest this is my least favourite of the 4 sets that you can get, but I have seen more and more ideas using it, including this one that make me think it's almost as good as the others... and I would of course get it if I had the other 3 first :).

So for the card:

Base - Whisper White cardstock.

Side panel - Strip of Neutrals DSP and a piece of Whisper White card which has sticky strip along it and then pink glitter added.

Hearts - punched with the small heart punch from Real Red, Regal Rose and Blushing Bride cardstock.

Stamped image - this has been inked in Basic Black and then coloured with a blender pen using markers to create a layered effect.

I really love this card - it's a bit fiddly with all those hearts, but the final effect with the glittery strip is beautiful.
