Wedding butterflies

Hopefully Tori and Macca will not be getting any wedding butterflies this morning though!  I'm off celebrate with them later today as they finally get married.  It should be a great day, here's the card I made them...

Using Calypso Coral and Gumball Green (new in colour) with Shimmery White card stock I've utilised the Labels Collection framelits and Beautiful Wings embosslits.  If you look closely you will see the white central frame has been stamped with one of the images from the Apothecary Art stamp set and coloured with Stampin' Write markers in co-ordinating colours.

The wedding stationery colours (as you will know if you are a regular follower of my blog) were the old in colours Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait, which are no longer available, but I think these 2 colours make a healthy replacement :).

I've also added a embossed strip of Shimmery White over a strip of Gumball Green card stock, embossing with one of the Adorning Accents folders.  Finally Teeny Tiny Wishes 'For the Newlyweds' fits just nicely and a few Basic Pearls.

Jewellery making

A couple of months ago I attended a jewellery making workshop which was a gift from my friend/Mother In-law, Maureen.  I've always dabbled with jewellery making, so this was a great gift as I actually got to make everything from scratch and learn how to do it properly.  Here is some of the jewellery I made.

So, since then I have been meaning to post the photo's and I have also made a little card to attach the earrings to in order to give them as a gift, although I'm not sure I can bare to part with them...

I've cut two Top Note die shapes from Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party and then embossed the Pool Party one with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, before trimming off the edge and mounting onto the Wisteria Wonder piece.

I've then cut a Wisteria Wonder butterfly from the Beautiful Wings embosslits to cover the holes which I made with the Crop-A-Dile and stuck this on with dimensional sticky pads.  To finish I have added some Basic Rhinestones and a sentiment from the Just Believe stamp set.

Engagement card

Today I have another commission that I was asked to make for an engagement party.  I used the same idea as yesterday's wedding card as time was short...

For the central panel I have cut a 6cm strip of Shimmery White card and run this through the Elegant bouquet embossing folder and then mounted it on a 6.5cm strip of mirror card (not Stampin' Up!).  I then created a focal point for the large butterfly from the Beautiful Wings die with mirror card using the scalloped circle punch and  a 3.5cm circle (also punched from the Shimmery White card and embossed with the same folder).

The butterflies are cut/embossed from Pink Pirouette cardstock and I have added some basic rhinestones to the large one, as well as the centres of the flowers on the central panel.

The sentiment was printed from my computer and mounted on mirror card before being finished off with the tiniest of the butterflies.

Wedding butterflies

When I have time I like to come up with new ideas of my own.  However when I don't I usually spend just as long on the web looking for ideas using a particular stampset, die or embossing folder or for a particular theme.  Here is a card that came from an idea for a engagement card which uses the Beautiful Bouquet embossing folder coupled with the Beautiful Wings butterflies die.  I haven't completely CASE'd it and I can't remember where the original idea came from but I think if you google the Beautiful Bouquet folder you will get some similar ideas.

Stamping' Up! now do silver and shimmery cardstock.  Ideal for weddings I thought, so went with the Shimmer White card embossed with the Beuatiful Bouquet design on a Whisper White base.  I'm still trying to get rid of some of my non Stampin' Up! items before the new year and the new mini catalogue is released, so thought I'd use some silver mirror card (Not Stampin' Up!) here too but this would work with another complimentary colour or shade of blue/green to match the Pool Party cardstock that I have cut the butterflies from.

To embellish I've used a few basic rhinestones on the flower centres and the large butterfly.  The sentiment is form the Petitie Pairs stampset... which has some lovely messages on that are ideal for both outside and inside the card too.

Training day make and take

As I missed the team training on Saturday last week ... sadly can't share the make and take with you.  However I saved up a project from last months training to share with you instead.

This is a mini card which uses Pear Pizzazz for the base.  A piece of Whisper White has been stamped using the dots, dots, dots stamp. The butterflies are cut from scraps of scraps of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride  and Peach Parfait using the Beautiful Wings embosslits die on the big shot and these have been set on a Whisper White '1-3/4" circle.

The sentiment is from the Party This Way stampset and has been stamped onto a strip of Whisper White card and finished with a Basic Rhinestone on each side.
