Here's a fairly quick card created using the Charming stamp set from the current Spring Mini Catalogue.  I've used Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade from the 2010-2012 In Colours Collection.  On the Poppy Parade base I have stamped the decorative image in Poppy Parade ink across the bottom of the card and then glued a strip of Lucky Limeade card stock across the middle.

For the frame I have run a piece of Lucky Limeade through one of the Designer Frames embossing folders using the Big Shot machine an then cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the centre and then inked the flower image with co-ordinating marker pens and stamped in the centre.

I've gone with a slightly different type of A6 card base for this card, rather than folding it the traditional way I have cut a piece of A4 in half lengthways and then folded in half... so it opens upwards.

Materials:

Card base - Calypso Coral card stock from the 2011-2013 In Colour assortment.

Whisper White card stock edged with the eyelet border punch.

Ribbon - Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

Stamp sets - Charming, for the background image inked with Island Indigo.  Vintage Vogue inked with Pool Party.

Bird Builder punch for th eleaves punched from Island Indigo card stock.

Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Another baby boy

I made this card a while back for my friends new baby, Isaac... but haven't had a chance to stop by and meet him yet. Fortunately I did send it however...

 

The pram is created with 1' 3/8" circles punched from Bashful Blue card stock and some DSP and each of these have been cut into half.  You can just see the top edge of the pram hood has a delicate 'fringe' which I created using the Perfect Postage punch along the edge of a scrap of Whisper White.  The wheels were also created with scraps of Crumbcake card stock and I added a Basic Pearl in the centre after fixing these with dimensionals.

The panel was created with Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Tempting Turquoise layered up and mounted over a strip of DSP from the Brights collection.  I've then added thin strips of Tempting Turquoise card stock along the edges and finished off with a sentiment (from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set) inked in Marina Mist.

I placed the sentiment inside the border image from the Charming stamp set and then punched this out with the Curly Label punch and mounted it on a scalloped circle punched from Tempting Turquoise.

Alternating the colours to Pink Pirouette for a baby girl card or So Saffron or Certainly Celery would work too.

Tomorrow I have the first of my Valentines week cards to share with you... so, sorry in advance to those who are not particularly into the celebrations associated with February the 14th.  I promise to be back straight after with more Sale-A-Bration samples and of course the usually flurry of other projects that I have come up with.

So, before that, this is my last non Valentines post.  It was made by my lovely friend and fellow demonstrator - Amy, to thank me for helping out at her recent workshop. 

Amy has used 3 of the stamps from the Charming stamp set which you will find in the current Spring Mini catalogue.  The colour scheme is Cajun Craze (base) from the Regals collection and Soft Suede from the Neutrals collection.  This is such a great colour combo...

Using Stampin' Write marker pens Amy has created the flower image in 2 colours (Cajun Craze and Wild Wasabi) after inking the background image in Crumbcake, all on Whisper White card stock.  Using the patterned circular stamp she has created a background on the Soft Suede card stock and then finish off the sentiment (punched with the Word Window punch, NB the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set) with a couple of basic pearls.

I will definitely be CASEing this card :0).

Charming animals

I was hoping to share with you another of the Sale-A-Bration samples that we made at team training... however I have forgotten to bring the photo's with me so you will have to check back tomorrow when will be home.

So instead here is a cute card that couples the dog and cat stamps from the every little bit stamp set with one of the stamps from the charming stamp set which features in the current Spring mini catalogue.

Materials:

Cardstock - Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla.

DSP - Rich Razzleberry and Regal Rose from the brights paper pack.

Punches - Scalloped circle, 1 3/8 circle, eyelet border, word window and curly label punch.

Other - Chocolate Chip marker, blender pen, basic rhinestones.

Note that I free handed the 'daughter' sentiment as my for my family stamp set is out on loan, but actually I think it works quite well - you just have to be brave enough to go for it when handwriting.

Before I start sharing these great samples with you I have to tell you about the great papers that Stampin' Up! are offering this year as well as the stamp sets. 

I'm not normally a big designer paper fan as I like bold designs and less flowery cards and papercraft items... but the Sale-A-Bration papers are absolutely stunning.  You have to check them out for yourself but they really are very lovely.

So, here is one of the cards that I have been saving to share with you that features one of these lovely papers.

I have totally CASE'd this idea from Amy who is fast becoming my 'partner in crime' when it comes to creating ideas :0)! 

The base is Whisper White, but I have braved teaming this up with some Very Vanilla shaded papers from the Sale-A-Bration pack which feature cute little blue birs and green patterns that seem to work well for an Anniversary card.  Having run a piece through the Top Note die using my big shot machine, I have then layered this over a 5cm strip of Very Vanilla card which I have mounted onto Marina Mist card which is slightly wider.  Using Pear Pizzazz on the background image from the Charming stampset I have stamped both ends of the strip before fixing it to the card base and overlaying the panel.

For the birds I've used my trusty bird builder punch on Sahara Sand card and with Wild Wasabi for the leaves.  Note that the bird wings are cut from scraps of DSP from the subtles pack.

To finish I've used the sentiment (inked with Marina Mist) from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set - which is fast becoming a feature on every project of mine lately... and a couple of basic pearls.

I really love this idea and will be playing around with a few other similar ideas as soon as I can find some time.

Dinner invite

I've been working in Cambridge for almost 2 weeks now... and have found somewhere to live too (during the week when I am here) now, although I don't get the keys until the 30th!

The evenings have been a little depressing, as I don't really know many people here properly yet... but on Thursday night I had an invite to dinner with the MD and his partner.  And what a lovely evening it was too - lovely food, company and some real laughs with his daughter and her friends!

Anyway, the point of sharing this with you is because I had to make a quick wine bottle tag to attach to the gift of wine that I got to say thank you to them.

It uses the new Charming stamp set that was released in the Spring Mini catalogue.  Sorry the picture is a little blurry... but I was in a rush to get myself out the door at the time :).

The details/mensions are:

- Crumbcake cardstock measuring 7.5 x 21cm, score at 7.5cm's and punch out a 1 3/8" circle.  I've also punched a scalloped circle from Rich Razzleberry card and then punched out the middle with the circle punch to add round the hole.

- Decorative circle stamp inked with Rich Razzleberry, stamped across the tag and then basic rhinestones added in the middle.

- Another Rich Razzleberry scalloped circle and Whisper White circle for the sentiment (from the Teeny Tiny Wishes) inked with Rich Razzleberry.
