More bikes

Today I have to give the Motorcycle individual stamp set one last push... because I've just had to make 2 more commissions using this stamp, I can honestly say it will be one that is missed!

I've used the sponge dauber effect on both cards to give them a vintage feel, which I often neglect, as it's so simply and yet very effective.

The first card uses Very Vanilla, Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip card stock and the lovely En Francaise background stamp.  There is also a sneek peak of one of the new sentiments from the new catalogue :). 

 

The other card is very similar to a few I have made in the past, using foil as the background, against some 'striped' DSP.  The colours are Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive.

Motorbike

It says Motorcycle in the catalogue but how does that differ to a motorbike?  Well, the bad news it's retiring and as my most used individual stamp and ideal for men it will be sadly missed from my stash.

I've teamed a Old Olive card base with Marina Mist and then added strips of DSP from the Subtles collection and the new Festival of Prints DSP, which is fast become my new favourite paper pack.

 

I've inked the Motorcycle in Early Espresso and then coloured with a blender pen using a Marina Mist Stampin' Write marker.

 

Quite a quick card in the end.

 

I was supposed to be having a day off today at at the craft show in Esher... but sadly I have had to work (extremely frustrating, but unavoidable), and after getting back home very late last night from Cambridge I'm anticipating my plans for tonight are going to leave me exhausted, so hopefully I can squeeze some crafting in over the weekend at some point and get some more ideas created to share with you :).

 

Happy Father's Day Dad

Well, I hope my Dad is having a good day... he's not really into celebrating Father's Day but of course it's another reason to make a card and I know he does secretly appreciate them :).

Dad has always (at least in my time lol) owned a Harley Davidson... so the motorcycle stamp set is ideal for him.  This card was inspired by my crafty friend Amy, when I saw her make it I just had to CASE it too!

Just a square of Whisper White, stamped with the image, 3 times starting from the right hand side and without reinking the stamp... it creates a lovely effect that looks like the motorcycle is moving (?).  The ribbon (retired) has been stuck with red tape and then I have then mounted the card onto Early Espresso card and then the Crumbcake card base and added the Happy Father's Day sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Here's another using some of the Early Espresso Grosgrain ribbon which is available in the current catalogue... and using a sentiment from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set instead...

Foiled motorcycle

The a la carte stamps on pages 14-16 of the main catalogue are very reasonably priced if you just want to build up your collection slowly, and there are plenty of choices for different occasions. 

With Father's Day tomorrow the a la carte Motorcycle stamp set is getting a bit of use, as I have it featuring on one of the cards that we will be making at my class this morning and also the card I have made for my dad (check back tomorrow).

I've created a 5 x 7 " card base from Soft Suede and then attached a piece of kitchen foil which I have run through the Square Lattice embossing folder to create the background panel.  It's a bit fiddly and you need to be careful you don't tear the foil when sticking it down, but it creates a lovely metallic effect ;).

I have then added a strip of Old Olive card stock with the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes and Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set's inked with Chocolate Chip, attaching 3 silver brads before sticking this down.

For the image panel I have used the Labels Collection Framelits dies to cut a Old Olive frame and then a Whisper White one around the Motorcycle image.  I've inked the Motorcycle in Chocolate Chip and coloured with an Old Olive Stampin' Write marker pen and it's ready... I hope the class attendee's like it.

Perfect Postage punch

I've shared a few cards with you that features punched shapes using the Perfect Postage punch which is available in the current Spring Mini Catalogue until the end of April.  As well as the co-ordinating stamp set this is a great punch for creating panel or for sentiments.

Here I have used it to create background panels in DSP and the sentiment panel used to prop up the card.

The colours are Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip and the stamp is the lovely Motorcycle which can be found in the individual stamps near the front of the main catalogue.

Tomorrow is my crafty get together so check back then for my project and hopefully some of the others in the coming week.

Sorry it's late bikers card

Here is a really quick card that I made for a guy at work who's birthday I totally forgot about whilst I was on holiday over Christmas/New Year! 

The sentiment is just typed on my pc and printed out on Whisper White card and then punched out using the Word Window punch.

Everything else is pretty straight forward:

Base - Basic Black card 12.5 x 12.5;

Bright DSP (striped Real Red);

Motorcycle stamp inked in Chocolate Chip and coloured with Real Red marker and them mounted onto a piece of DSP and then Marina Mist card.

Marina Mist punched with Scallop Trim border punch across the middle.

Motorcycle

Today I have a male card to share with you using the motorcycle 'individual' stamp.

I have used the new 'In Colours' Island Indigo cardstock for the bottom panel and a piece of the DSP Brights striped paper in the Tempting Turquoise shade at the top.  The card base is Crumbcake.

The image is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card and coloured with Island Indigo.  I have then mounted it onto Chocolate Chip card stock.  To co-ordinate the sentiment (retired) has been inked in Chocolate Chip and I have embellished with Candi pieces (not Stampin' Up) but you could use brads instead.
