Another favourite retiring stamp set...

I just don't know what to share with you next, what with the new Autumn/Winter mini catalogue items and the retiring products list there is so much to mention!

 

So, here is a card using one of my other favourite retiring stamp sets and one of the retiring 2010-12 In Colours card stock...

I've used the lovely Clearly for You stamp set, which was one of the first set's I purchased, even before I became a demonstrator so I will be very sad to see it go.

 

The base is Poppy Parade, from the 2010-12 In Colours that will also be retiring this month.  I've layered the based with a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and then a piece of DSP from the Beau Chateau paper pack.  Across this I adhered a length of Early Espresso and then punched out the image with the Decorative Label punch and then trimmed the edges off before fixing to a Chocolate Chip Decorate Label punch shape.

Waterfall album

Earlier this month I went along to a fellow demonstrator's Waterfall Album class to try out something a bit different.  I take my hat off to Diane, who braved this class as it's extremely technical... but so so worth it when you finally get to the end.  Here is what my finished album looks like, and I am so please with it, so thank you Diane :).



I got to play with my favourite designer papers from the main Stampin' Up! catalogue - Beau Chateau, combined with the Baroque Motifs stamp set which I have never used before, so I was in heaven!  And the lovely Striped Grosgrain Soft Suede ribbon to co-ordinate ...

The colours are Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.  You can just see in the photo there is a panel of Soft Suede which has been run through the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then the image panel on the front was created with the Top Note die, both using the Big Shot machine.

I have then used the Baroque Motifs image in Soft Suede and added flowers in Marina Mist ink, which I have then attached the Itty Bitty punch flowers to and a Basic Pearl. 

The sentiment is from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and I have just inked the 'Life Happens' part onto Very Vanilla and then punched out with the Oval punch and mounted on a Scalloped Oval punch from Marina Mist card.

I've stuck with simple pages as hope to add some photo's soon, so just stamped the flower from the Baroque Motifs stamp set in Marina Mist alternatively through the album pages and added a border with strips of the Beau Chateau papers and Marina Mist card punched with the Ribbon Border punch.

I love the idea of creating a flower with ribbon... it's just a case of using red sticky strip around a circle and adding a brad in the centre... I've used the Crochet Trim ribbon here and a Antique Brad.

The other pages fold out like a 'waterfall' when you pull the tab, and at the back I've added another Top Note die shape for the final page.

I have to admit, only special people will receive one of these made by me as it's pretty hard work to complete!

Wedding hearts

Wedding season is upon us it seems.  I don't actually own any of the wedding stamp sets yet, although I have got my eye on the Love and Laughter stamp set in the current Summer mini catalogue.

So, for these wedding cards I have used the Heart punch and some embossing folders.  Actually amazingly simple to make once you have punched out the pieces and embossed them.

The papers are from the Beau Chateau DSP paper pack, which I am sad to say is probably up there in my favourites as it has papers which are suitable for feminine and masculine cards, and sadly I have almost used up my pieces from a paper share ...

The framelits dies make a great background, after I have embossed them with the Perfect Polka dots die, and the lovely Organza ribbon is also moving up my list of favourites as it adds the final touches to give a more luxurious feel.

Another Father's Day card

2 days to go till Father's Day, so here's something appropriate for the occasion...



I braved the All in the Family stamp set for this card, which is a great set (as long as you have a Stamp-a-ma-jig) but a bit fiddly to line all the body parts up :)!  I've stamped a little guy with a shirt and tie onto Whisper White and then cut him out, along with the dog.

The card base is Pool Party and I have adhered a strip of DSP from the Beau Chateau paper pack on one side and then added lettering cut from Marina Mist using the Timeless Junior Alphabet dies... and then attached the characters using dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set inked in Marina Mist and then I've added a button tied with linen thread to finish.

Crafting o'clock

Finally, after working some seriously long hours this week... I managed to spend the evening doing something I love, and I have some of my very lovely friends to thank for a last minute gate crash of my evening which I had planned to be working through :).

So, I now have a few projects to share with you.  But first I have to show you this brilliant card created by my friend Tori, whome has slowly been getting the crafting bug since taking on the task of making her wedding stationery...

Using some DSP and card stock scraps, mainly from the Beau Chateau paper pack, and her new toy - the Owl Punch... she has created something really lovely and completely her own design :).  Nice one and thanks for making my week end on a good note x

Varying layouts

There are so many different layouts possible when making a card, I thought today I would show you just how easy it is to create a few different cards using the same materials.

I've used the cute tortoise stamp from the Natures Nest stamp set from the main catalogue for these birthday cards and coloured it with Stampin' Write markers.

The first card is a Old Olive base onto which I have created a Soft Suede panel and punched the edge with the Scalloped Trim border punch, before mounting the Whisper White image panel.



On the card base I have added 2 lengths of Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon and then a sentiment from the Perfect Pairs stamp set, inked with Early Espresso onto Whisper White and then punched out with the 1 3/8' circle punch before mounting onto a Scalloped circle punch and raising up with dimensionals.

For the second card I've used a Whisper White card base to create a 13.5cm square and then added a strip of Soft Suede card stock in the centre and then a piece of DSP from the Beau Chateau paper pack. 

Onto this I added the 2 circular shapes from the Perfect Pennants die, cut from Soft Suede and More Mustard and then in the centre I have added 1 1/4' circle punched from Whisper White which has been run through the Square Lattice embossing folder, before finally adding the tortoise.

And finally, another Old Olive base and paper from the Well Worn paper pack, with a central panel cut from Soft Suede and the image stamped onto Whisper White.

I could go on creating layouts like this, so why not have a go yourself and see what you can come up with.
