Cocktail cheers for a 30th birthday

Last month was my crafty friend, Amy's, birthday. And I almost forgot to send her a card *slap*! Fortunately my craft stash was on hand quickly and I rumbled up something just to mark the occasion, as it was a special birthday for Amy this year.

I was excited to get to use a new stamp set for this one - the numbers from the ABC-123 Outline set that Stampin' Up! released in their new (still current) catalogue last year. I was in a rush so the photo wasn't too good, but here's another I made for a commission just this week using the same idea.

Materials
Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango cardstock and ink, on a Very Vanilla base.
Stampsets - Happy Hour and ABC-123 outline.

Fun cocktail birthday card

Here's a fun and bright card created using the Happy Hour stamp set from Stampin' Up!. You can use any colour for the cocktail and even tailor the drink to the recipients taste with the different glasses available in this stamp set.

If you look closely, you may spot that I have handwritten the sentiment for a change, as I couldn't find the stamp set I wanted quick enough to make this card as it needed sending the same day!

Stampin' Up! colours: Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise

Brandy for a Dad

Special occasions usually involve drinkies!  So the Happy Hour stamp set is a great set to have in your stash.  Here's a quick card I made for a commission, which features what I believe should be a glass of brandy?!

Colours - Marina Mist, Crumbcake, More Mustard.
Stamp sets - Happy Hour, For my Family.
Embossing folder - Argyle.

If you would like to purchase any of the items featured in this card or any other Stampin' Up! items then you can get FREE postage on orders of £45 or more if you purchase from me before the end of the month. Just email me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com or call 07974 062376 (note that this is a new temporary number).

Happy birthday Mum

As usual I'm out of the country for my Mum's birthday, but of course I didn't forget the card...  Happy birthday Mum, hope you have a great day x

Mum doesn't drink but I thought she would approve of a non alcoholic cocktail card for this year?  I've used the Happy Hour stamp set which has so many little stamps it's hard to choose which glass to ink up :).

The base is Whisper White and I have created an easle style card so that it stands upright and then added the Real Red panels with some of the Pumpkin Pie DSP from the 'Brights' collection paper pack.  The image is inked with Stampin' Write markers as you can use more than one colour at a time and then I've added the umbrella and fruit using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

I've punched out the image with the Curly Label punch and then created a border with 2 Real Red punch shapes.  Finally you can just make out the 'Mum' wording in the photo from the For My Family stamp set.  Again the Stamp-a-ma-jig came in handy here as it's always nerve wracking to stamp directly onto a card!

Happy birthday Susan

It was my Aunt's birthday today... but hopefully she got to open the card on time :).

Here it is - featuring the lovely Happy Hour stamp set in the main catalogue:

I've used a Pool Party based and matted Tempting Turquoise behind a piece of Shimmery White card stock which has been embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.

I've then stamped the chosen cocktail glass in Tempting Turqoise and Early Espresso onto Whisper White card and punched these out with the Perfect Postage punch before mounting on squares of Tempting Turquoise.

The sentiment is from the same set and I've created a co-ordinating tag using a parcel tag (non Stampin' Up!) by adding a strip of Tempting Turquoise punched with the Scallop Trim border punch and 3 more images.

I do hope Susan had a fabulous birthday x

Christmas tags

At my Christmas accessories class last week we made a selection of tags, a bag and a box, all to co-ordinate with the Christmas cards made in the previous weeks.  Here are the tags:

Glitzy glam 30th

Happy Monday... :)!

I have been busying myself trying to get some content for my travel site so haven't had much time to keep my crafty posts flowing over the weekend, but promise to get back to regular posts this week.

Please do check out my other site, and check back regularly for travel related info, product reviews and my ongoing travels and please share with your friends - the more hits I get the better chance I have of persuading someone to give me some freelance travel writing work...

Ok, enough of the shameless plugs, here is a card:

I was asked to create something with a glitzy glam theme for a 30th birthday, and after mulling it over I decided it had to include the Happy Hour stamp set.  After that it was just a case of using the Red Glimmer paper and my Scallop circle punch to create a cocktail dress (the belt is mirror card 'non Stampin' Up!).

The photo doesn't show that I've used Shimmery White card as well as having embossed the Basic Black panel.

If you would like to place an order and live close to me (GU16) you can save on postage as I will be placing an order at the end of the week, so please contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

Christmas drinkies

It's almost Christmas party time...

As much as I like traditional sorts of cards at Christmas, I thought I would create something a little different for one of my Christmas card club sessions, and the Happy Hour stamp set had just the thing.

The set has lots of little bits and pieces that you can use for a variety of occasions, with a choice of 5 different glasses:

So here is the card I created with Elegant Eggplant, Real Red and Summer Star Fruit (from the new in colours range):

I can't wait to find some time to create some birthday and other occasion cards with this set :).
