Happy Birthday MHD

Even though I'm away travelling I planned ahead cards for friends and family as best I could, so that they aren't forgotten.

Today is my friend Michelle's birthday - Happy Birthday mate!

I used Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit from the 2012-14 In Colours range and the Make a Cake stamp set, but the papers are now retired. There are many new papers in the new catalogue that you could use instead, just check out page 150 onwards.

If you would like to place an order for many Stampin' Up! products just contact me via email at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

Easter flowers

I have a very quick card to share with you today, which would probably work quite well for other occasions as well as Easter, with just a change of sentiment or colour theme.

The little daffodils were created with the Boho Blossoms punch and then I've punched out circles using the eyes from the Owl punch for the centres.  The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes (hostess) stamp set, inked in Bashful Blue.

I've not really had a chance to play with the Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring/Summer catalogue but I totally love it... so, more ideas to follow!

Happy Mothers Day Mum

Being out of the UK I almost forgot that it is Mothers Day today!

I did make a few cards in haste before departing last month, and fortunately had remembered this one for my Mum :)!

The base is Basic Black and I have embossed a piece of Real Red card stock, cut with one of the Designer Labels Framelits dies, with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and used this for the background.

I've added a butterfly cut from Twitterpated fabric (adhered to card) using the Beautiful Butterflies die and then punched out a Decorative Label punch shape stamped with the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and decorated with one of the stamps from the Bloomin' Marvelous SAB stamp set.

Argyle embossing folder;
Decorative Label punch,
Wacky Wishes stamp set (hostess only);
Basic Pearls.

Glitzy glam 30th

Happy Monday... :)!

I have been busying myself trying to get some content for my travel site so haven't had much time to keep my crafty posts flowing over the weekend, but promise to get back to regular posts this week.

Please do check out my other site, and check back regularly for travel related info, product reviews and my ongoing travels and please share with your friends - the more hits I get the better chance I have of persuading someone to give me some freelance travel writing work...

Ok, enough of the shameless plugs, here is a card:

I was asked to create something with a glitzy glam theme for a 30th birthday, and after mulling it over I decided it had to include the Happy Hour stamp set.  After that it was just a case of using the Red Glimmer paper and my Scallop circle punch to create a cocktail dress (the belt is mirror card 'non Stampin' Up!).

The photo doesn't show that I've used Shimmery White card as well as having embossed the Basic Black panel.

If you would like to place an order and live close to me (GU16) you can save on postage as I will be placing an order at the end of the week, so please contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

Christmas drinkies

It's almost Christmas party time...

As much as I like traditional sorts of cards at Christmas, I thought I would create something a little different for one of my Christmas card club sessions, and the Happy Hour stamp set had just the thing.

The set has lots of little bits and pieces that you can use for a variety of occasions, with a choice of 5 different glasses:

So here is the card I created with Elegant Eggplant, Real Red and Summer Star Fruit (from the new in colours range):

I can't wait to find some time to create some birthday and other occasion cards with this set :).

Loving the Occasions Alphabet stamp set so much

Perfect for scrapbooking and personalising cards I absolutely love the Occasions Alphabet stamp set and can't get enough of it.

Here's a carc made to congratulate a couple on their new home.  Featuring the cute little cuckoo clock stamp from the Easy Events stamp set, mounted on a Decorative Label punch...

There are of course some lovely little sentiments that goes with the alphabets, which makes them so versatile as there is something for many occasions.

First Christmas card club session

It's that time of year again... I actually can't believe it was a year ago since my last Christmas card club started!  Last night I had my first session and we made 3 cards, 4 of each design.

Here's the quick card that easily became the one that took the longest... tying all those bows!

The base is Whisper White and then I've embossed a piece of Real Red with the new Argyle embossing folder and attached it as the background.

The Old Olive strip has been embossed with the Stripes embossing folder... and then each of the candy canes from the Scentsational Season stamp set in the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue has been cut out with the co-ordinating dies.

The sentiment is from one of the new hostess sets in the main catalogue, Wacky Wishes, but I've just used the first part of the wording and then punched it out with the Decorative Label punch.

All very straightforward until those bows... created with Lucky Limeade bakers twine... a little bit fiddly to say the least.  The trick is to have a much longer piece than you need, to tie the bow and then cut the ends off.

If you would like to order anything from either of the catalogues of book one of the remaining spaces on my upcoming Christmas card club sessions, just email me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com

Check back tomorrow for another one of the cards we created...

Catalogue launch event ice creams

It's been a busy day of crafting, with my catalogue launch event this afternoon and then some more crafting with friends... I was so engrossed I completely forgot to take photo's of their great cards :(.

I've also been finalising the card designs for my upcoming Christmas card club... and then my sister arrived and after dropping her off this evening to a wedding reception I have finally sat down :)

So here is the make and take project that I CASE'd from a card that my crafty friend Amy shared with us as her swap at a recent demonstrator get together.

Here's Amy's card:

This card uses the Cupcake Builder punch... to create ice creams.  You will see we have used Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stock for the different lumps of ice cream and the cone is actually created from Crumbcake card stock, using the base of one of the pennants from the Perfect Pennants die, although the Petite Pennants Builder punch would work just as well.  The cone has then been embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

For the make and take card I've used a Very Vanilla card base and a Decorative Label punch cut from Pool Party card stock for the background piece.

Check back tomorrow for a slight twist on the make and take card which utilises the lovely Create a Cupcake set that is now back in the main catalogue, and from which I have used the sentiment for the card above.

Christmas card club starts next month

Just to let you know that my Christmas card club starts next month and I still have a few places left.

The club will run on a Thursday night from the 18th October for 3 weeks, commencing at 7pm.  You will be able to make 12 cards during each session (4 each of 3 designs).  Check out my classes page for more details.

So by the first week of November you could have 36 handmade cards, and also there will be more pre-cut cards available to purchase if you need them.

I also have a Christmas accessories class planned for Saturday 27th October at 10.30am, and if you book all 3 sessions of the Christmas card club you will get the accessories class for FREE.  Booking deadline is 7th October and subject to availability, so contact me to day to book you place.

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to design the cards yet so do not have a sneak peak to share with you... but instead here is a Christmassy themed card using the Joyous Celebrations stamp set from the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue.

The base is Old Olive and I've adhered a piece of one of the papers form the Festival of Prints DSP pack to the front and then added a strip of Whisper White, stamped with one of the sentiments from the Joyous Celebrations stamp set before adding a Real Red Decorative Label punch with dimensionals.

Finally I have stamped the 'reindeer' image from the set with Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White and then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, lined up the frame and stamped this in Real Red ink before cutting out.

Very quick and simple... and perfect building up your stack of Christmas cards.

If you would like to book to attend one of my Christmas Card Club sessions, please email me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com , bearing in mind places are limited.

Cambridge crafting with Joyous Celebrations

With 3 days in Cambridge this week, I made sure I had planned ahead and organised a crafting session with my friend Donna.

We had great fun coming up with ideas using the Joyous Celebrations stamp set from the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue, so I thought I would share one of them with you today... but I can't take credit for the creation as this is all Donna's handy work, with a little help from one she saw on the web.

Using the lovely Snow Festival DSP created a great background and Donna has then matted a variety of Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler card with these papers.

The stamp set has so much to choose from  with a variety of images and sentiments, adequate to make all your Christmas cards with basically :).

If you would like to order this set or any other Stampin' Up! products just contact me at jadedcrafter@gmail.com, and don't forget I am offering FREE postage until the end of the month on orders of £45 or more.

No more pillow box die :(

Apologies for the late post today... I have got a bit behind with scheduling posts this week as work slowly catches up with me.  If fact I'm a bit behind on the crafting too, but still have a few things to share with you to make sure you're making the most of the retiring products list!

More items dropped off today so make sure you check out the lists soon, here.

Another of my favourites is going... the pillow box die :(!  I'm not sure how life will be after it's gone, but I have seen the replacement product in the upcoming new catalogue which will be released in October and I don't think you will be too disappointed.

However if you don't want to miss out, contact me now to place your order and remember I'm offering FREE postage on orders of £45 or more for the rest of the month.

Here's a quick project created with the pillow box die from some Blushing Bride card stock (also retiring) and some of the lovely Timeless Portrait DSP papers which will also be gone after September, if not before.

I've also used the following products:

- Decorative Label punch
- Bird Builder punch (for the leaves)
- Boho Blossoms punch
- Basic Rhinestones
- Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder
