Clearly for you is going

I have another card from my last chance class at the weekend, which features the retiring Clearly for You stamp set and the lovely Holly Berry DSP which is also going at the end of the month.

 



I've tried to keep the card appropriate for a male or a female by using Basic Black and Real Red with Very Vanilla.  The brads add a masculine feel as do the striped papers.

 

The frame is from the Designer Frames, embossed using the Big Shot machine, and then I have carefully stamped the 'birdy' image and sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set inside the frame using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Gift tags with box

It's always handy to have a few gift cards around for when you have a last minute present or just want to leave someone a little note.

 

These gift cards fit inside a box created with the Scalloped Envelope die and are so quick to make, and also make great gifts too.

 

You will see the box is made with Marina Mist card stock, from 2 die cuts and I've added a piece of one of the papers from the Festival of Prints DSP pack to the front, along with some Very Vanilla Seam binding ribbon.

Another favourite retiring stamp set...

I just don't know what to share with you next, what with the new Autumn/Winter mini catalogue items and the retiring products list there is so much to mention!

 

So, here is a card using one of my other favourite retiring stamp sets and one of the retiring 2010-12 In Colours card stock...

I've used the lovely Clearly for You stamp set, which was one of the first set's I purchased, even before I became a demonstrator so I will be very sad to see it go.

 

The base is Poppy Parade, from the 2010-12 In Colours that will also be retiring this month.  I've layered the based with a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and then a piece of DSP from the Beau Chateau paper pack.  Across this I adhered a length of Early Espresso and then punched out the image with the Decorative Label punch and then trimmed the edges off before fixing to a Chocolate Chip Decorate Label punch shape.

Flower panels

I'm back on 'holiday', up in the Lake District today... so will be continuing to schedule posts.

Here is another idea for you, using the Reason to Smile stamp set that is available only throughout August...

I've stamped the images and coloured with blender pens and then cut out and mounted onto the panels fromthe Clearly for You stamp set which I have inked in Pear Pizzazz and then matted onto Peach Parfait card stock.

These colours are lovely and summery so I continued the theme by using a So Saffron card base with a strip of Pear Pizzazz embossed with Perfect Polka Dots and some Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon.

Emboss resist

I'm back in Kent this weekend catching up with some very old friends, hopefully doing some walking and getting  fed and watered :).  So no crafting for a change - well, maybe!

Fiona, a fellow demonstrator inspired me a few weeks ago to give the emboss resist technique a go.  I thought I would start with something small so made a gift tag rather than a card:

The tag itself is a plain white parcel tag which you can pick up in packs in the post office or stationers.  I have inked up the bird image from the Clearly for You stamp set with Versamark and then embossed this with Whisper White embossing powder (clear powder will also work as it will retain the colour of the base you are using).  The sentiment was also created in the same way.

I then used a sponge dauber with Rich Razzleberry ink and covered the rest of the tag (remembering to remove the string and replace after it dried).  Finished off with a flower punched from DSP scraps using the Boho Blossoms punch and the leaves from the Bird Builder punch and a basic rhinestone in the centre.

I liked this so much I created a whole batch ready to adorn some gifts...

Get well wishes

I've been asked to make quite a few get well cards recently...

And last night when I arrived at my accommodation for this week I was sat there frozen for and hour before I had to venture to bed fully clothed and still be cold (!)... after also coming home at the weekend to no heating I'm going to be getting pneumonia soon.  

Better make up some get well cards by the batch as it's that time of year...

Anyway, there are numerous stamp sets that are ideal for creating quick note cards... and for this set I've used Clearly for You.  It's got some lovely stamps including the butterfly one that I have used here.

The colours are Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive - all from the brights collection.  I've co-ordinated the DSP and then used a variety of sentiments form the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the Word Window punch on a different shade of matching card (Blushing Bride, Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizzazz).

What I love about Stampin' Up! products is that the ink, card and DSP all co-ordinates within each collection and also with many other colours.

Boxes for little gifts

I've been away all week, house/cat sitting again, so have been trying to catch up on a bit of crafting in the evenings!

Rather than cards I've been working on some little gift boxes and a variety of gifts to go inside them... 

These boxes are so easy to make.  I designed them to fit 3 tea lights initially, but have been using them for other things too.  Each of the boxes in the photo has been decorated using the Clearly for You stampset 'flower' image in 2 different colours, simply stamped all over the sleeve before assembling it round the drawer.

The drawer dimensions are 3 x 6 1/16 inches for the insert.  Scored at 3/4 inch on all 4 sides.  You then need to snip to create the tabs on 2 opposite sides and fix with red tape.  I find that normal double sided tape or glue just isn't strong enough so make sure you use the red tape.

For the sleeve the dimensions are 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 scored at 3/4, 2 3/8, 3 1/8 and 4 3/4.  Make sure you stamp the sleeve before assembling this and place it around the drawer to ensure it fits before sticking with red tape.

Here is one with a gift inside, although the stamping on the sleeve hasn't come out very well in the photo... but you can see how it works :).

Gift set

Today I have a little gift set to share with you.  It's made using the Clearly for You stampset and I have used the image with the berries inked up with Perfect Plum and Wild Wasabi.

To make the post it note holder (see  instructions here).  I have used a piece of Elegant Eggplant for the base and coupled this with Perfect Plum. The other tools used include the Scalloped Circle punch, Eyelet punch and 1 3/8 Circle punch, however you could easily make the project using some other punches or tools. 

Bottle of something

I thought I would share a wine bottle tag idea with you today ... this can be adapted for a male/female/couple/etc as appropriate.  I have used the Clearly for You stamp set ladybird stamped in Chocolate Chip ink in the background (Crumbcake base card), then coloured with Rich Razzleberry ink using a blender pen.  The birds image has been stamped in Chocolate Chip with the 'for you' sentiment, all from the same stamp set and then punched with a circle punch before being mounted on a scalloped circle.

Gift card holder

I saw a great idea on Amy's blog sometime ago which I have finally got round to giving a go...

The Basic Black card has been cut to 4” x 8” (scored at 4”) then folder in half and taped on each side after punching out a piece where the gift card will go.  I have then used some of the Brights DSP cut to 3 ¾” x 3 ¾ “ and 1 ¼ x 4” to decorate the front.

For the tab to hold it shut I have punched a circle using the 3/4" punch and then set this in place with just enough overlap to allow the top to be pushed behind it.  I finished this off with a button and added a oval punch to a scalloped oval and stamped the sentiment from the clearly for you stamp set.  A bow tied from Real Red Grosgain ribbon finishes this off so it's ready for the gift card to go inside.

A tissue a tissue...

Having been suffering from a cold since I was in Romania... I'm debating whether I might just be suffering from hayfever instead, given the warm weather there and the fact that we have been having hot weather too in the UK...

Here is another tissue box as I have been using a lot of kleenex recently and also as I have had a couple of requests for the instructions.

Take a piece of Crumbcake card 4 5/8 x 8 and score at 1 1/2, 2 5/8, 5 1/4 and 6 3/8.  Stamp the butterfly image (from the Clearly for You set) over the card.  Then cut a piece of Daffodil Delight 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and score all 4 sides at 1 inch.  Cut slits into the opposite sides and fix with sticky tape. 

Once the inner box is complete you will need to cut a 1 x 2 3/8 piece of card to fit over the inside end of the box where the ribbon tab needs to be stuck.  Once done you can fit the outer sleeve around the drawer so that it fits comfortably and opens, and then stick together.

I decorated the top with a piece of card stamped with the background image from the Clearly for you set and then added the sentiment to a oval punch shape but this can be adapted to suit.

Turkey

No not another Christmas post - sorry I can't quite get into Christmas just yet as I am scheduling this post for while I am off on my travels.  Today I will be in Turkey, Istanbul to be precise... and sadly on the last couple of days of my trip!  I am sure it will have been wonderful, particularly as I haven't manage to get away properly since 2009 when I was in Nepal. 

I will be back on Saturday around mid-day... and no doubt ready to start crafting as soon as possible!

Here is my last scheduled post, assuming Blogger is still working, to share with you another gift idea... scented candles.

These are surprisingly easy to make, although this was my first attempt.  Using the butterfly and flower stamps from the Clearly for You stamp set, I have co-ordinated the candles with the box.

It would be great to hear from anyone who has any other little gift ideas that they want to share as I am always looking for new things to make.

10 days to go until I can craft again!

I will be back from my travels on 1st October, although sadly will miss Cate's catalogue kick off party.  I have a class scheduled for the 2nd however, where I will be showing you how to make 2 little gifts, a wine bottle tag and a card, all with the same stamp set.

So with only 10 days left until I return here is an idea for a post it note holder... which will be one of the gifts ideas included in the class on the 2nd October - albeit using a different stamp set.

This version uses the crown from the Clearly for You set and has a cute girly pink them using Melon Mambo cardstock.  I even found a pink mini pen for it.

Male and female cards

I just love the Clearly for You stamp set that I used in Thursday post as it is very reasonably priced at £17.95 (for the clear stamp set).  You can make both male and female cards with the images and I am so glad that it will be remaining in the new catalogue which will be released on 1st October.

Today I have a card for you which features the berries image from the set.

I've stamped the image in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive ink onto Whisper White card and then mounted this onto a panel of Rich Razzleberry.  The background is Basic Black card which I have run through the Big shot with an embossing folder (not a Stampin' Up folder I'm afraid).  I have then tied a piece of the Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon around this before mounting the image panel and then fixed the ends underneath the background before mounting to a Whisper White A6 size card base.

I've finished the card off with silver eyelets using my Crop-A-Dile, but you could use leave this out if you don't have eyelets or use basic rhinestones, or even circles cut from a hole punch...

I'm quite sad that the Rich Razzleberry ribbon and metallic eyelets are retiring this month from the Stampin' Up! catalogue but they are going to get some use during my Christmas Card Club in October and November...

Butterfly note cards

Last day of work today... so a scheduled post as I have had to plan myself before departure tomorrow. 

Here are some quick note cards using the butterfly stamp from the Clearly for You set.  There are so many things you can do with the stamp set, both male and female cards and for all occasions.  Fortunately although it is from the current mini catalogue it will be in the main catalogue from 1st October in both the wood and clear sets still.  I will be posting a few more ideas using this set whilst I am away to keep your creative juices flowing so keep checking back:).

Male card

Today I thought I would share with you a card using a different stamp set that I chose for my starter kit - Clearly for You, which comes from the current Mini Catalogue.   The great thing about this set is that there are a variety of stamps that can be used individually or amalgamated for both male and female cards. 

This card features the image with 3 birds which is probably my favourite stamp from the set. 

The base is Basic Black cut to create an A6 sized card.  I have then used a 5cm strip of Whisper White across the card and stamped with the bird image and sentiment in black ink (note that I stamped the image onto some scrap paper first so that the final result was a more subtle black effect).  The DSP is from the Brights stack and I have cut a 1cm strip for the top and then punched a strip with the scallop punch before cutting to 2cm.  Finally a black button to finish.

A very quick card and which can be adapted to the full colour range to suit the recipient :).

I have my first team training day tomorrow, so was up very late last night making all the swaps.  Check back tomorrow to see how it goes...

Demonstrator get together

I attended my first demonstrator night out this evening and met some of the other demonstrators in the team.  Hopefully these events will become a regular thing as well as the team training, as it was really lovely to meet lots of people who love crafting as much as I do.

I was a bit apprehensive about the card swaps that we had to make beforehand for all those attending.  Swaps are samples that you make a batch of the same and then swap them with other people who are attending and event.  It's great because for every swap you give, you get one back and can share ideas and add to your stash of samples for future demonstrations. 

So, here is what I made for my first swap, using the Every Little Bit stamp set, combined with a sentiment from the Clearly for You stamp set (I've used the 'N' from the No.5 stamp to decorate the corner of the card, as I know not what else to do with it!).

The card is suitable for an anniversary, birthday or valentines perhaps.  I've used the Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango DSP stack for the panels which I have then mounted on Crumbcake cardstock and embellished with a flower and then some of the leaves from the 2 Step Bird Punch.  The ink is Chocolate Chip.

In return I obtained lots of new ideas, which I will share with you in due course.

We have a team training session on Saturday which I need to make more swaps for, but have to wait until the retiring list is released on Thursday before making them as we have to use current catalogue items... it's going to be a bit tight!
