Waterfall album

Earlier this month I went along to a fellow demonstrator's Waterfall Album class to try out something a bit different.  I take my hat off to Diane, who braved this class as it's extremely technical... but so so worth it when you finally get to the end.  Here is what my finished album looks like, and I am so please with it, so thank you Diane :).

I got to play with my favourite designer papers from the main Stampin' Up! catalogue - Beau Chateau, combined with the Baroque Motifs stamp set which I have never used before, so I was in heaven!  And the lovely Striped Grosgrain Soft Suede ribbon to co-ordinate ...

The colours are Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.  You can just see in the photo there is a panel of Soft Suede which has been run through the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then the image panel on the front was created with the Top Note die, both using the Big Shot machine.

I have then used the Baroque Motifs image in Soft Suede and added flowers in Marina Mist ink, which I have then attached the Itty Bitty punch flowers to and a Basic Pearl.

The sentiment is from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and I have just inked the 'Life Happens' part onto Very Vanilla and then punched out with the Oval punch and mounted on a Scalloped Oval punch from Marina Mist card.

Here is the inside of the album:

I've stuck with simple pages as hope to add some photo's soon, so just stamped the flower from the Baroque Motifs stamp set in Marina Mist alternatively through the album pages and added a border with strips of the Beau Chateau papers and Marina Mist card punched with the Ribbon Border punch.

I love the idea of creating a flower with ribbon... it's just a case of using red sticky strip around a circle and adding a brad in the centre... I've used the Crochet Trim ribbon here and a Antique Brad.

The other pages fold out like a 'waterfall' when you pull the tab, and at the back I've added another Top Note die shape for the final page.

I have to admit, only special people will receive one of these made by me as it's pretty hard work to complete!

Cleaning and crafting

Sadly I had to spend my morning cleaning the house thoroughly as it hasn't been done for a few months now that I am in Cambridge most of the week.

This afternoon I made the most of the good weather and set up my crafting stash in the sun room and set to work on the Easter samples for my class tomorrow.

My 'Mother in-law', Maureen stopped by and joined in the fun a little later too... I think she's now made all the cards for her family for the next year!  Look at these...

I also caught up on some commissions.  Including a large batch of note cards which I created from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the Season of Joy stamp set (yes it's a Christmas one!).

A quick card but I did decide to cut out the middle flower and raise it up with a dimensional sticky pad so as I had 24 to make it wasn't a 5 minute job!

I've used Elegant Eggplant, Red Rose and Peach Parfait for the flower heads and Lucky Limeade for the decorative swirls, all stamped onto Whisper White and then mounted on a co-ordinating colour base of either Wisteria Wonder, Pink Piroutte or So Saffron.

Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight... see you tomorrow with some Easter class offerings.

Happy Mother's Day Mum

I hope you have a lovely day x

I've gone with a slightly different type of A6 card base for this card, rather than folding it the traditional way I have cut a piece of A4 in half lengthways and then folded in half... so it opens upwards.

Materials:
Card base - Calypso Coral card stock from the 2011-2013 In Colour assortment.
Whisper White card stock edged with the eyelet border punch.
Ribbon - Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.
Stamp sets - Charming, for the background image inked with Island Indigo.  Vintage Vogue inked with Pool Party.
Bird Builder punch for th eleaves punched from Island Indigo card stock.
Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Mother's Day Class

I've been having quite a busy day... with a class this morning and catching up on some commissions it's been all about the crafting!  It's so nice to be home too for a few days and feeling a little more normal again :).

The ladies at my class this morning seemed to enjoy themselves making some cards with a Mother's Day theme using the Vintage Vogue stamp set in the main catalogue.

I made the projects a little more challenging than normal as those attending have been to my classes before and they like to chat so it's always good to have them cutting out lots of bits for their cards so they can catch up and gossip at the same time :).

Some of the Sale-A- Bration papers featured on the cards too, and one or two of the ladies chose to make theirs for other occasions.

Here are a couple of the cards a bit closer up.

Crafty get together

I've had today planned for sometime... and have been really looking forward to it all week!  There are 6 of us getting together for some crafting and the idea is that everyone brings a project with enough materials for everyone else to make it.  That way we get a load of new ideas and a chance to catch up and relax.

If I can find a gap in my diary I would love to have these get togethers more frequently... so do email me if you want to receive details of any future events.

So here is my project:

It's a flower pot card which I have seen quite a few of but I have largely cased this particular layout/template from Amy Celona at Ustamp4fun.

The flowers are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and have been inked with Perfect Plum and Blushing Bride onto Whisper White and then cut out and mounted with dimensionals onto the insert created from Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant card stock.

The butterfly has been cut using the Beautiful Wings embossing die which I just love.  Here I have used Melon Mambo and added some basic rhinestones in the centre.

Other materials:
Flower pot base - Crumbcake card stock;
Edging - Scalloped Trim Border punch;
Scallop circle punch;
1' 3/8" circle punch;
Sentiment - Happiest Bithday Wishes;
Ribbon - Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon;
Leaves - Bird Builder punch.

I hope the ladies like it.
