Flirtatious hair embellishments

Back to work and a very hectic workload today...

 

Here's a neat idea to use up any remaining scraps of fabric that you might have, or why not check out page 170-171 of the main catalogue, as there are lots of new fabrics now available as well as some of our old favourties.

 

This idea uses the Flirtatious fabrics to create little hair embellishments...

 



 

I must confess that I'm not the sewing kind, but my mum assures me these are very straight forwad to make, so those of you that can handle a needle and thread should have no problems :).

 

They would also make great back accessories... in fact, the ideas are endless.

 



Quilted lavender bags

I do love the fabrics in the Stampin' Up! catalogues, but I'm just no good at sewing... but fortunately my mum is!

I wanted some lavender scented bags for gifts, so mum not only made some for me using the Flirtatious fabric, but also harvested some of the lovely lavender fresh from her garden...

Mum is a keen quilter so the little lavender bags were created with a 'quilt' style using all 3 of the different fabrics that come in the pack and finished with a variety of ribbons and buttons.

Here are a few more, all stuffed with fresh lavender...

I found a great site for quilting layouts that would work for cards http://www.equiltblocks.com/  so may have to give a few layouts a try soon.

Bag holder

I'm off to Doddington (in Kent) for a falconry experience with my friend Vicky today so hoping the weather holds off.

But before I go .... my mum has finally finished the plastic bag holders that I asked her to sew for me, so I have to share them with you...

I have a couple of these already, and they are just so useful to making sure all those carrier bags get tidied away somewhere and can be easily accessed when needed.

Created from some plain material, the wording has been created from lengths of the Firtatious fabric from the main catalogue and sewn by hand.  There are quite a lot of patterns and designs for these bag holders on the web, although I know mum designed her own :).

Long pillow box

Today, I thought I would share with you a gift box idea.

The pillow box die is great for creating little boxes very quickly, but sometimes you need something a little bigger for a gift.  Well, there are a number of other ideas that this die can be used for, one of which is a longer box created with 2 die cuts.

I've used Melon Mambo and Basic Black card stock to create this box and simply attached one end of each box to the other with red sticky tape and then covered the join with some DSP.  I've used a strip of the Cheerful Treat DSP from the hostess section of the catalogue and then cut out a piece of the same with the labels collection framelits die (smallest one) before mounting a butterfly cut with the Beautiful Butterflies die.  I've actually used some fabric from the Flirtatious range, which has been stuck to a piece of card using the multipurpose adhesive sheets, before cutting out.  Finally a couple of Basic Pearls to finish.
