Back in 2015 the Sale-A-Bration catalogue released the stamp set You Brighten My Day and I still use this set a lot... mainly for the little house image. Here are some new home card ideas which are quick and simple.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day Dad!

The card I made for my dad uses the Henry Says stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue. I've used the Neutrals DSP which retires at the end of this month for the 'elephant' and the 'stripes' at the base of the card. The other card stock is Pool Party, Island Indigo and Very Vanilla (embossed with Polka Dots).

Other materials:
Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes; Word Window punch.
Border - Finishing Touches edgelits

Happy Birthday Cat

Happy Birthday to my very good friend Cat who is erm.... one year older today ;)!

In my mad rush to get out of the UK back at the beginning of February I was frantically trying to get all my cards made for people who's birthday it was whilst I was away.  I didn't realise I would be back earlier than planned, so this card was a quick and simple one.  I'm sure Cat won't mind as my crafting skills are being taken advantage of put to good use by her over the next few days, so I will make up for it ;)...

Easter chicks

I wasn't expecting to be back in the UK for Easter, and I don't really celebrate as such... but where there's chocolate to be had!

I'm still a little restricted with my stash as I haven't extracted everything out of storage yet but I do have my trusty owl punch with me, and surprisingly I managed to create something with an Easter theme using it.  

I had to add some feathers (with embroidery threads!) as these little chicks looked too much like yellow owls on my first attempt... I think maybe some wings might have helped?

Anyway, here are the other materials:

The Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder is one of my favourites.  You will see that my last couple of posts featured cards using this folder, it's just so versatile.

Today I have a thank you card which uses this embossed effect as well...

Colours - So Saffron, Rose Red, Lucky Limeade.
Punches - Scallop Trim Border, Word Window.
Stamp sets - Button Buddies, Teeny Tiny.

Birthday twin girly card

Yesterday was my friend's Mel and Nathan's birthdays.  They are twins so it helps me to remember when their birthdays are.  Here's the card I made for Mel:

I've used the Patio Party DSP for the strips at the bottom of Midnight Muse card base and then cut a Label with the framelits die from Whisper White, which I have also embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  

The cute little cake was cut from the DSP and mounted on Dimensionals and then I've added a sentiment punched out with the Word Window punch to finish.

I hope Mel had a great birthday.

New catalogue and blog hop

The new Spring/Summer catalogue is released today and can be found here.  To celebrate, some of the Stampin' Stars demonstrators have decided to take part in a blog hop and to share with you some of the new products.

So, welcome to the Stampin' Stars Blog Hop and an extra special welcome to those of you have hopped here from Lesley's blog.

For my project I decided to create a card and co-ordinating gift card holder, using the cute Henry Says stamp set.

The card is to celebrate the arrival of a baby girl... but the gift card holder could be used for any occasion...;)

The card base is Pink Pirouette and I have added a piece of DSP from the Subtles Collection paper pack to the base, before adhering a length of the Crochet Trim (see page 173 of main catalogue) and then a length of Pretty in Pink Stitched Grosgrain ribbon.

The 'elephant' image has been inked in Basic Grey and stamped onto another DSP from the Subtles Collection paper pack and then cut out and mounted with Dimensionals.

You will see I have then added the sentiment inked in Rose Red, and also selected the word 'BABY' from the 'B' stamp from the Alphabet Occasions stamp set, to go above this.  To embellish I've punched out some heart shapes using the Owl Punch and added a Designer Button.

The gift card holder has been created from an A6 envelope, and decorated with the same materials as the card.  I've added a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, punched out with the Word Window punch to finish it off.

The good news is that the Spring/Summer catalogue is released on Friday (1st February), so there will be lots of new products available for purchase.  However, that means the Autumn/Winter catalogue products are only available until Thursday (31st January)!

Here's a quick card to remind you about those lovely Festival of Prints papers from the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  The papers are great for a variety of occasions...

I've used a Very Vanilla base and then adhered the DSP for the background, before adding the image from the For the Birds stamp set.

A quick sentiment inked with Versamark and embossed with White embossing powder and set with a heat gun from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and it's done.

There are 48 sheets in each pad of the Festival of Prints DSP pack, with 4 sheets each of 12 different designs.... great for card fronts and mounting photos at a size of 11.4 x 16.5cm.  Check them out on page 20 of the catalogue:

Happy birthday Lee

Like me, my sister loves the colour purple... so for her birthday I of course had to include this on the card I made for her!

I've used a Wisteria Wonder base and coupled Rose Red and Perfect Plum along with Shimmery White card along with the Perfect Postage Stamp set.

I've also embossed the Rose Red Perfect Postage punched shapes and used Versamark ink and White embossing powder to add some variety to the card.

Happy anniversary M&D

Well I trust everyone has had a good Christmas.  I'm currently in Arizona,enjoying the warmer climate after a trip to the Grand Canyon at below zero temperatures.  Do check out my travel site for more on this if you are interested.

Despite being away I do have a few crafty posts lined up to share with you so keep checking back.  Today it's my parents wedding anniversary, so here is the card that I made them.

It uses one of the images from the For the Birds stamp set which has a lot of choices for many occasions...

The base is Bashful Blue and I have teamed this with Pink Pirouette and Whisper White using a strip run through the Argyle embossing folder and layered onto a Scallop Trim Border punched from Whisper White.

I've added a couple of butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies embosslits die, cut from Shimmery White card scraps and a button tied with Linen Thread to finish.

One of my favourites

I created one of these cards for my Christmas card classes last year (yes, 2011!), but it was so popular that I had customers this year requesting commissions of the exact same card.  So I had to share it with you again :).

You can see the original post here, but I have changed the sentiment.  The owl punch is still my favourite punch, there are so many things you can do with it... and they don't have to involve owls lol.  Check out the owl punch tab to the right of my site for more ideas.

Christmas wrapping

Yesterday, I had a crafting session with a few friends.  Amy arrived with a little gift for me, which she had wrapped in some of the Be Good of Cheep DSP with a cute card/tag on the front...

This is such a cute card, created using the Scentsational stamp set 'gingerbread man', inked in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White card and then cut out with the co-ordinating Holiday Collection Framelits dies.  Amy has teamed Real Red and Old Olive (Christmas favourites!) and some more of the Be Good of Cheer DSP for the base and added a Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment and some cleverly placed 'hearts' from the Owl Punch (cut from Old Olive) to create a 'bow tie' and 'bow' on the gingerbread people :).

What a great idea!

Belated new home card

Wow, what a day... I've been busy catching up with people, getting my car ready for the winter and at the same time also had the first viewing of my house.  Tomorrow is much the same and then I must start packing some boxes.

Here is a quick card made using the Little Additions stamp set (it's a baby themed set) but I've used it for a new home card...

I had to come up with something very quickly this morning before dashing out to deliver it, so I've opted for a Marina Mist base and a background of Pool Party which has been run through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

The arm chairs and coffee table have been inked and stamped onto Whisper White and then carefully cut out (ok, so this wasn't a quick task after all!), and I've mounted the chairs using dimensionals to add some depth.  The sentiment is handwritten and punched out with the Word Window punch, and then I've sneaked in a non Stampin' Up! peel off which I stumbled across whilst clearing out my stash as the card just needed something else to liven it up a bit!

Birthday bike

There are some lovely hostess stamp sets in the main catalogue, and I just love the Summer Afternoon set:

I've used the lovely bicycle image for a male birthday card, by teaming it up with some of the papers from the   Festival of Prints DSP pack in the Autumn/Winter catalogue...

The base is Basic Grey and I've used Island Indigo to matt the image to.  A few brads and it's good to go.

Christmas bag

Finally I have managed to sort out issues with blogger and can now add photos via another route, so scheduled posts are back... that is of course subject to actually creating something to post :).

Today I have a quick Christmas bag that co-ordinates with this card.

I have adhered a strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing  folder, to strips of Old Olive before attaching it to the sides of a pre cut gift bag.

The little tag was created with one of the Labels Collection Framelits dies cut from Old Olive card stock and then a selection of punches were used to create the Santa from scraps of Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

Finally I have used some of the Real Red taffeta ribbon to attach the gift tag to the bag.

Glitzy glam 30th

I have been busying myself trying to get some content for my travel site so haven't had much time to keep my crafty posts flowing over the weekend, but promise to get back to regular posts this week.

I was asked to create something with a glitzy glam theme for a 30th birthday, and after mulling it over I decided it had to include the Happy Hour stamp set.  After that it was just a case of using the Red Glimmer paper and my Scallop circle punch to create a cocktail dress (the belt is mirror card 'non Stampin' Up!). 

 

The photo doesn't show that I've used Shimmery White card as well as having embossed the Basic Black panel.

Punch art santa

I'm afraid I've sneeked my current favourite stamp set onto one of the Christmas cards that we made at my Christmas card club session last night :)!

 

Those little alpabets form the Occasions Alphabet stamp set are just great for everything...

 

The card features a punch art santa made from a variety of punches:

 

Scallop Circle

1 3/8 Circle

Word Window

1 1/4 Square (cut in half diagonally to create hat)

Owl Punch (nose and hat bobble)

 

The papers are from the Festival of Prints DSP pack... which is also great for no Christmas cards - check out the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue on page 20 to see for yourself.

 

And if you fancy some of those Googlies - googly eyes, they come in packs of 50 and are just £2.25.

Have you seen the hostess sets in the main catalogue?

 

The card I have to share with you today includes one of the images from the Summer Afternoon hostess stamp set:

 

Here's the card which uses some of the papers from the Patio Party DSP pack...

 





The flash didn't work on my camera so the pic looks a little dull.  I've used Pink Pirouette for the Label Collection framelits and Whisper White for the image piece.  The image has been coloured with blender pens using Stampin' Write markers and I've attached a length of the Organza ribbon behind the panel.

 

If you would like to get your hands on this stamp set or any of the other hostess sets, you don't actually have to hold a party or workshop.  Instead you can just collect orders from your friends/family and earn hostess pounds in return.  Contact me to find out more, or of course book a party or workshop.

Showcasing summer starfruit

So the new catalogue is out, the new in colours are out and if you sign up as a demonstrator in October or November you can get FREE papers for 6 months!

 

Now for some project ideas...

 

This card introduces the new Summer Starfruit in colour, which, if I am honest, I initially turned my nose up at.  

 

When I saw the new Comfort Cafe suite on page 130 of the main catalogue, I changed my mind as Summer Starfruit works so well with autum colours, which I just love.

 

The card above is a Pool Party base which I have pierced using the new Paper-Piercing Tool on page 181 of the new catalogue.  I've then created faux stitching with a Stampin' Write marker pen over the holes.

 

For the centre piece I have die cut Summer Starfruit card stock and Soft Suede using the Labels Collection Framelits dies and then mounted some of the lovely Comfort Cafe fabric onto card with the fabric adhesive roll and then die cut a buttrefly using the Beautiful Butterflies die.  A couple of Basic Pearls to finish and a sentiment.
