One of my good friends has recently had a little baby boy. You may remember the baby announcement cards I made as a gift - see here.

Today I have the baby card to share with you:

I've gone with Pool Party colouring from Stampin' Up! rather than a traditional baby blue card.  Check back in a few days for the quilt I commissioned my mum to make for baby Charlie.

I've been playing with my old stamps and came up with this card idea for a new baby. Of course there is a Stampin' Up! stamp in there somewhere too...

Get well cute elephant

As promised I have another card to share with you which uses the Patterned Occasions free stamp set from  the 2013 Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration event. Another get well card, using the cute elephant this time.

Would probably work for a new baby card too...

Baby announcements for a gift

Last weekend I went to my friends baby shower, but hadn't quite finished making the gift! I made a box of baby announcement cards that can also double up as thank you cards when the little one arrives. I hope they like them...

I've used the Henry Says stamp set from Stampin' Up! and created a background with the perfect polka dots embossing folder.

Hopefully also a fitting card for the Paper Crafting Challenges challenge with a 'Baby' theme. 

New baby card with a jungle/safari theme

It seems that baby cards are always blue or pink! So I was excited to get to make something in a different colour, for a specific theme to co-ordinate with the nursery theme, for my friends new arrival.

Here's the card I had fun making with a variety of punches, although I did case the idea from Julie.

Materials
Cardstock - Tangerine Tango, So Saffron.
Punches - Oval, 1" 3/4 circle, 1" 3/8 circle, 1/2" circle, scalloped circle, Owl Punch, Boho Blossoms.

Baby's quilted blanket

This post is long overdue... after I returned form my travels I have struggled to get everything onto my blog. Whilst I was away, my good friend had a new baby. And this is what my mum created for me to give as the new baby present.

A handy quilted blanket... which doubles as a counting chart for her elder son too. The baby room is bear themed so I'm hoping they have been using it lots since I gave it to her in January.

I will be sharing some of the other quilting projects created by my mum from time to time... they are just too good not to show you :).

Baby elephants

I have a couple of baby cards to share with you today, which use the Top Note die and Patterned Occasions (retired) and Occassions Alphabet stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

The 'elephant' stamp is ideal for a baby card. I've inked the stamp with Stampin' Write marker pens, in order to pick out the flower in a different colour.

Limited stash, personalised baby card

What do you do when a very good friend has a new baby and you're out of the country and have no craft stash to hand?

You search out a craft or stationery shop and do your best to ensure the occasion doesn't go without a handmade card.

I'm not sure whether it ever arrived in the post as I sent it from Singapore, but it's the thought that counts.

Here is what I came up with...

And here is a cute little baby card made using the Alphabet Occasions stamp set that I am offering as a prize in my January draw, just place an order with me during the month of January to be in with a chance of winning (details here).  

The card is a Bashful Blue base, and I have adhered a panel of Very Vanilla which has been embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder using the Big Shot machine.

The DSP is from the lovely Patio Party paper pack and then I have added the cute little baby from the Happy You stamp set (hostess only) without the sentiment and punched this out with the Curly Label Punch. The border was created from 2 Curly Label punch shapes cut form Bashful Blue card...

...finally a button from the Naturals Designer Buttons pack to finish, tied with linen thread.  I always like buttons on baby and cards for men, what do you think?

I would love to see some other ideas using my favourite Alphabet Occasions stamp set, there are so many choices for these lovely sentiments. I just love 'em!

Baby announcement

Whilst having a break from Christmas cards I came across this lovely card that I hadn't shared with you that my crafty friend and fellow demo Amy gave me following the birth of her beautiful baby boy in August... I put it on the mantel piece on display and totally forgot about sharing it.

 



Amy made a whole stash of these so they are nice and quick... great for announcing an arrival but also great for a congratulations or christening card too.

Peek-a-boo baby card

Phew what a weekend... I'm knackered!

 

Saturday was a crafting day and yesterday was a day of walking in the rain.  Today I'm back in the world of work... and fortunately at home for the day, but up to Cambridge tomorrow.

 

So today I have a commission to share with you for a a friend/colleague, and I'm really excited because I got to play with my new Occasions Alphabet stamps again :). 

 

You will see that the card features one of the stamps from a hostess set in the main catalogue, Happy You. 

I've cut a piece of Bashful Blue with the Perfect Pennants die on my Big Shot machine and then also cut a Whisper White piece and trimmed off the border before stamping the image in the centre.  I've used a blender pen with Stampin' Write markers to colour the cute little baby.

 

The base is Crumbcake and I've stamped the lettering from the Occasions Alphabet stamp set inked with a Marina Mist Stampin' Write marker and then punched out with a 1/2 inch circle and mounted on a 3/4 inche circle of Bashful Blue.

 

Finally some lengths of Whisper White grosgrain ribbon on the bottom and a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set... and voila.

For mixed twins

Back to regular posts hopefully now I am back :).

 

I received a request to make a congratulations card following the birth of mixed twins.  Initially I was a little stumped at what I could create for both a boy and a girl and what colours to use.  However So Saffron and Whisper White came to the rescue, as did the little ducky from the Every Little Bit stamp set...



I've used a square Whisper White base and then stamped the little ducky in Marina Mist, Regal Rose and More Mustard before colouring with Stampin' Write markers using a blender pen and Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette and So Saffron inks.

 

I've then cut out the panel using one of the Labels Collection framelets and cut a large shape from a piece of So Saffron which I have then run through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

 

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set which is new in the main catalogue.  The baby names have been printed onto Whisper White and cut and matted onto a strip of So Saffron card stock to finish.

Congratulations Amy and Dave

I've had this card ready for ages, as the majority of my crafting sessions tend to be with my crafty friend Amy... so I had to make it in secret, as it's for her new baby boy who arrived YESTERDAY!

Congratulations to Amy and her husband Dave on the arrival of their new bundle, Alexander (Xander)...  I look forward to meeting him sometime soon x

I've actually used Amy's stamp set, Fox and Friends to create this card with the cute little monkeys and carefully stamped them using my stamp-a-ma-jig so they 'hang' from each other.  You will see the middle one has been cut out by hand and raised up with dimensionals and his tail is looped into one of the letters, which was a bit fiddly, but I think achieves the desired effect.

I've used a Top Note die cut from Whisper White card stock and mounted this onto a Bashful Blue Top Note and then added the lettering cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies, of course stamping the cheeky monkeys first.

You can just make out the 'hello baby' sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set placed just above the 'BOY' inked in Bashful Blue, and then I have mounted the panel onto Shimmery White card and added a designer button to finish.

I really hope Amy likes this card - it's always hard to come up with new ideas for fellow demonstrators...

Baby cribs

Apologies that the photo's of these cards aren't too good...  hopefully you can still make out the clean and simple effect I went for using the Little Additions stamp set 'crib' image. 



After inking the crib in Crumbcake and stamping onto Whisper White I have then matted it with Bashful Blue/Pink Pirouette and layered up using dimensionals.  The sentiments were stamped with Marina Mist and Rose Red.

Happy Monday!

Well, I've had a weekend packed with crafting and relaxation... although yesterday involved quite a lot of house work and an ickle bit of work too.

I have lots of projects to share with you this week, but first I have to share this cute little thank you card that I got from my crafty friend Amy for her baby shower gifts.



As well as the cute baby created with the All in the Family stamp set, Amy has used one of the Designer Frames embossing folders directly onto the card base (you can just see this in the pic) which is a technique I will definitely have to have a go at.  It's a bit fiddly as you have to layer up the folder to avoid the 'tell tale' lines from showing around the edge... but once achieved you can breath a sign of relief ;).

Of course Amy is expecting a boy, so I'm looking forward to sharing the congratulations card with you later this month if he arrives on time :).



Owl punch for baby shower

This morning I'm over at the craft show in Bracknell with my crafty friend Amy.  Amy had a baby shower organised for her by her sister yesterday and here is the card I made for her...

It uses the Owl punch which is currently a fabourite of both Amy and myself as there are just soooo many things you can do with it.  I'm not entirely sure this came out as well as it could have done as I was struggling to find the right sort of punches and cut all the little bits up to create the baby grow and perhaps should have just stuck to 2 colours or included more So Saffron somewhere...

Anyway, you can hopefully see what I was trying to do with the brads, although the top one makes the collar look like a bowtie!

I've had a terrible week and was complete exhausted when making it, in fact almost didn't find any time to make it at all - I'm sure Amy will appreciate it.

Materials:

Card stock - Bashful Blue, Whisper White, So Saffron;

Embossing folders - Designer frames, Perfect Polka Dots;

Punches - Owl punch (body to create the baby grow), Scallop Circle punch (to create the leg holes and punch out the corners of the Whisper White and Bashful Blue embossed panels, Word Window (for sentiment);

Accessories - Designer Brads, Designer Button;

Ink - So Saffron;

Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I thought I'd create some little tags for the gifts that I got and had a play around with the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiments to get the 'Just For Baby' wording that I wanted... a length of the Whisper White Organza ribbon and that was that.

Baby announcement congratulations

Last week I shared with you a new baby card featuring the little ducky stamp from the Easy Events stamp set.  Today I've used the same stamp but for a congratulations card to celebrate the announcement of new baby news - is that what you call it?

I've gone for a circular shaped card base cut with the Scalloped Circle die from So Saffron card... as the expected arrival may be a boy or a girl.



I wanted to keep the layout simple as the size of the card is so cute and doesn't want to be overloaded... so I just cut a couple of pieces using the Labels Collection Framelits dies which are in the current Summer mini catalogue, one from some DSP and one in Whisper White, which I had stamped the image onto and coloured with Stampin' Write markers.

The sentiment is a sneal peek for the new catalogue due to be released in October... but that is all I can say about that for now.

A couple of Basic Perals to finish and a few dimensional sticky pads to fix the image panel to the card base and it's all ready :).
