Finally finished my Travel Smash book

Ok, so I have been rubbish at regularly posting here so far this year. Mainly just haven't had a chance to get the craft stash out much, and have been busy finishing my Travel Smash book :).

I'm so excited that it's virtually complete, subject to a couple of  photos that I need to get printed and add.

It was almost becoming too big to complete, but thankfully I didn't have to rebind or take any pages out.

So, although I have shared quite a few of my smash pages previously, there appear to be plenty that I haven't posted pictures. Therefore I'll be spreading them out over the next few posts in case you want to bookmark my blog here or facebook page and follow along for the next few days.

1st wedding anniversary smash book

You may recall a previous post where I shared with you a first anniversary card and present idea that I had been working on for my best friend.

Well, today I thought I would share with you a few more pages from the smashbook that I made for their 1st anniversary - although having to be careful as there is a lot of personal info that I am sure they don't want shared on the web too much... excuse the squishing of pictures too.

1st wedding anniversary card and gift idea

Despite both of them forgetting to get a card for the other, I remembered!

My very good friend Cat and her husband Mark, celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary today. And with a theme of clocks and paper this one was easy to create :).

I've also been working on a scrapbook present, or Smashbook as it's better known. Here's the page from the official wedding day at the registry office. 

Plenty more to be completed with all sorts of bits and pieces I've collected up from their first year together. Just how I can finish it before their second anniversary ;).

New 'scrapbooking' product range - release date 1 May

Anyone who has been following my recent posts will know that last week I attended a wedding in Mallorca. Since then, I've been back in the UK but have had no time to craft, so apologies for my numerous wedding related posts.

Today I have another related post to share with you, but this time for the scrap bookers and Smash book lovers out there. It's not quite finished but I just couldn't resist showing you the work in progress, as Stampin' Up! announced yesterday that they will be bringing out a new range of products called 'this and that' next month, and these are similar to the Smash range that I personally absolutely love :).

Smashing with Sycamore Street

Sale-A-Bration may end today, but I'm going to be using the gorgeous Sycamore Street DSP pack for sometime yet!

I'm slowly working through my Smash book creating pages from my recent travels... in fact I got so side tracked playing that I've almost forgotten that I still have travel blog posts to finish - oops ;)!  Anyway here's a few of the pages featuring the lovely papers... ooh and links to my travel blog posts, where I had a couple of unfortunate incidences, which may help you out when planning a trip to Spain.

Smashing a page idea

I'm really getting into my scrap booking, or the alternative which is my Smash book (see what it's all about here) and love to use Stampin' Up! products for this.  

When I quit my job I wanted to create a page as a keepsake and had a pile of business and ID cards which I thought would be ideal for this.  I wasn't too keen on the original papers in my smash book so instead covered it with some of the papers from the Patio Party DSP pack and then created a sort of pin board style card holder by wrapping a length of Bakers Twine around the page to tuck the cards behind.

I still need to find a few bits and bobs to embellish the page fully but it's a great way to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) and leftover twine or ribbon.

Of course I've been busy creating numerous pages during my current trip to Arizona in the US... so am getting my crafting fix whilst I am away :).

Scrapbooking my trip



With just 3 full days in Lake Garda over the weekend (check out my travel blog for more details), I was desperately collecting bits and pieces for my travel scrapbook (or Smash book), and on my return was able to finish it off with some of the new stamp set's from the new Stampin' Up! main catalogue...



I've used the Occasions Alphabet stamp set for the lettering on both pages, inked in Pacific Point onto Whisper White card and then punched out using a 1/2 inch circle punch and mounted on a 3/4 inch circle of Pacific Point card.

Of course I had to carefully ink with my Stampin' Write markers to avoid introducing the rest of the sentiments on each stamp :).  Here's a close up:

I have then also inked and stamped a couple of the images from the For the Birds stamp set, which has 8 brilliant choices... I stuck to the romantic looking ones to depict Verona and Romeo and Juliet...

I love the way the Stampin' Up! colours co-ordinate with the papers in the Smash book, more luck than anything else... but the circle punches make it so easy to create quick embellishments.  I will definitely be using this idea for my cards.
