Happy Easter with chocolate bunnies

Happy Easter to you all!

I didn't plan to make any Easter cards this year, but I did receive a small commission request for some, so decided to use one of my previous ideas (see old post here) to save time.

I changed the colours around and bit and scared myself using the Every Egg Stampin' Around wheel, with Chocolate Chip ink... got there in the end though.

Materials:

Base - Pool Party and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock;

Other cardstock - Chocolate Chip and So Saffron;

Stamp sets - Perfect Postage, Every Egg (Wheel)

Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Easter flowers

I have a very quick card to share with you today, which would probably work quite well for other occasions as well as Easter, with just a change of sentiment or colour theme.

The little daffodils were created with the Boho Blossoms punch and then I've punched out circles using the eyes from the Owl punch for the centres.  The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes (hostess) stamp set, inked in Bashful Blue.

I've not really had a chance to play with the Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring/Summer catalogue but I totally love it... so, more ideas to follow!

Happy Egg Day!

Happy Easter one and all!  I hope you got lots of eggs today...

I don't actually normally do eggs, but more often than not my good friend Cat seems to remember to get me one, although maybe that's because it's around the time that I see her (because it's usually quite near to her birthday)... and I always feel guilty that I haven't got her anything!

So, this year I have made her a card to celebrate... and it has chocolate included too!  I actually made her a Melon Mambo one (see further down below for pic) but the photo comes out a bit bright and scary on it's own so I have posted this one to show you the design...

There's a little tab to keep the sweets inside and avoid having to break the card to get them out... with a little hole inside the card, although I have yet to work out how to get the 1/2" circle punch to reach far enough across the card to create the hole so had to cut it by hand instead.

If you haven't seen the 'treat cups' before, you can find these on page 95 of the main catalogue. There is a matching stamp set on page 35 - Something Sweet, which is designed to fit these little plastic cups so you can create something a bit different. I've been wanting to have a play with this stamp set for a while...

I couldn't stop at just one of these cards, so made a few as presents... the Melon Mambo one is my favourite as it's so bright and cheery :).

Quick Easter card

Just a quick card to share with you today as I am dashing off for a weekend of walking, boating and birthday celebrations :).

However, I do promise lots of ideas using the papers featured in this months offer coming up this week as I spent yesterday afternoon crafting at Amy's and then came home to create some more...



This card features the Decorative Label punch, with a border, also created with the decorative label punch. It's very easy to do, just punch out the centre piece in Whisper White and then punch out 2 shapes in your chosen border colour, I have used Pink Pirouette here.

Then you simple cut each of the 'pink' pieces in half, one vertically and one horizontically. Then fix them to the back of the centre piece and snip off the overlaps on the corners and points and it's done... then just fill with your choice of 'whatever'. I have gone with Easter Eggs, which I thought was appropriate, just egg shapes run through a couple of different embossing folders.

Materials:

Card stock - Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip;

Punch - Decorative Label, Word Window;

Embossing folders - Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice;

DSP - Brights collection paper pack;

Sentiment - Teeny Tiny Wishes (of course!).

Easter bunny

With Easter on it's way why not send a card or two this year and minimise the calorie intake?

This card gave me the chance to have a play with one of the Stampin' Around wheels - Every Egg.  I've not really used these much but I was very surprised to find how easy these are to use and the effect is brilliant.

I've inked the wheel with Marina Mist and stamped onto the bottom of a Bashful Blue base. To decorate I've coupled Chocolate Chip and So Saffron card stock, with a little embossing, punching and stamping.

Materials:

Punches: 1'3/8" circle, Scalloped circle, Word Window.

Stamp sets: Perfect Postage, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Every Egg.

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist.

Embossing folder: Perfect Polka Dots.

Easter class

Today I have my Easter class, by special request, as it wasn't one I originally planned until I was asked to.  And I actually really enjoyed making something a bit different, particularly as I don't actually own any of the Easter themed stamp sets from the catalogue...

We will be making 10 cards, 2 each of 5 different designs, although I am not sure which is my favourite so I'm going to share a couple with you today.

First, a design that I CASE'd from my crafty friend Amy. 

I've used Crumbcake for the base and folded in the wings a little so he fits in an A6 envelope... sorry the photo is a bit blurry, but at least you can't really see the retired stamp that I have used for the sentiment :).

The second card uses a few punches, including one of my favourites, the bird builder punch:

To create the chicks I have snipped off the tail of the bird and used the scalloped circle punch on the wings and then raised these up with dimensional sticky pads.  In fact I've realised that you can make allsorts of birds from this punch as well as the standard one :0).

Sorry, rubbish photo again and I haven't got time to take another one... but you can just make out that I have embossed the Whisper White background with the Square Lattice embossing folder and then matted it to a piece of Bashful Blue card stock.

The flower is from the Create a Cupcake stamp set which I have inked with markers to get 2 colours on the same stamp (Rose Red and Wild Wasabi).

I've entered this card into the Crafty Boots Challenge - Easter.
