Wedding congratulations and scrolls

Last weekend I attended a spectacular wedding...

My very good friend, Nathan, and his beautiful bride Jo, were lucky enough to have reasonable weather at this time of year... and I'm sure they had a lovely day.

I of course made them a card, which they probably haven't opened yet, as they headed off from the wedding venue for a few days in a hotel before embarking on their honeymoon to the Gambia. So here it is...

I've utilised some Stampin' Up! card stock in Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant to try and keep with the wedding colours of Cadbury purple and black. Then I've added some mulberry paper flowers that I purchased in Thailand.

I wasn't planning to be back before the wedding, so had already started planning the card from afar, hence the flowers. Fortunately heading back in the UK unexpectedly meant I had access to my craft stash, and could come up with something better.

As an added bonus, being back also meant I could get involved with some of the wedding preparation. I was assigned the task for making the order of service's for the church. Nathan and Jo had picked a nice simple idea so thankfully it wasn't as painful as wedding stationary can sometimes be.

90 scrolls and pieces of ribbon/diamante's later...

And a close  up...

I've been terrible at posting on here of late, although it's mainly due to focussing so much time on my travel site (here). I actually have a huge number of crafty projects to share, I just need to pull my finger out and post some of them ;).

Card for my Sister

Being back in the UK for a bit, I have finally gotten around to using my Xcut alphabet die from Hobbycraft that I picked up in the sale last year.

In fact, Hobbycraft have a lot of sale items in store now (1 year on) which I am having to resist the temptation to look at.

So here is the card, using some DSP from Stampin' Up!, a lovely laser cut wooden button from totallybuttons.com  that I've had in my stash from years ago and a few other items.
