Happy Easter of course!

Here is Chicky and the Honeycomb embossing folder from my last few posts... they go well together don't they!

I hope you have a happy Easter Day today, I'm going to be making the most of it!

With or without the champagne glitter paper?

If you have been following my recent posts you will know that I am helping with wedding favours for my best friends wedding next month (see Playing with wedding favours post).

Now we have a confirmed theme of butterflies, I've had to resort to the retired Butterfly punch to help me out.  The Beautiful Butterflies embosslits die would work just as well but unfortunately it doesn't allow for printing of the bride and groom's names on the back very easily!

Here is my batch of samples which are being mulled over - which would you pick, with or without the Champagne glitter paper that is still available?

Materials:
Butterfly punch (retired);
Card - Pink Pirouette;
Embossing folder - Vintage Wallpaper;
Flowers - non Stampin' Up!;
Champage Glimmer paper - rolled over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue, you can order a pack for £4.50 (item 127885).

Easter flowers

I have a very quick card to share with you today, which would probably work quite well for other occasions as well as Easter, with just a change of sentiment or colour theme.

The little daffodils were created with the Boho Blossoms punch and then I've punched out circles using the eyes from the Owl punch for the centres.  The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes (hostess) stamp set, inked in Bashful Blue.

I've not really had a chance to play with the Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring/Summer catalogue but I totally love it... so, more ideas to follow!

Easter chicks

I wasn't expecting to be back in the UK for Easter, and I don't really celebrate as such... but where there's chocolate to be had!

I'm still a little restricted with my stash as I haven't extracted everything out of storage yet but I do have my trusty owl punch with me, and surprisingly I managed to create something with an Easter theme using it.

I had to add some feathers (with embroidery threads!) as these little chicks looked too much like yellow owls on my first attempt... I think maybe some wings might have helped?

Anyway, here are the other materials:

Scallop Circle die;
Designer buttons;
Ruffled ribbon - Pool Party;
Subtles collection DSP;
Linen Thread;
Word Window punch;
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Brandy for a Dad

Special occasions usually involve drinkies!  So the Happy Hour stamp set is a great set to have in your stash.  Here's a quick card I made for a commission, which features what I believe should be a glass of brandy?!

Colours - Marina Mist, Crumbcake, More Mustard.
Stamp sets - Happy Hour, For my Family.
Embossing folder - Argyle.
